Just coming to say the same thing. 10 stinking minutes, not even. And of course we get to miss Stefano’s reaction to EJ. Grrrrrrr…what is wrong with these people. It’s not like coming on 10 minutes later would change anything that is going on.
dvalParticipantI know a Sami Rafe baby would be cool but come on, how many more pregnancies does she need? I wonder if this is true though because I read somewhere that a new female is coming on from another show and she is going to be a big time business exec and will take Sami under her tutelage. Wish I could remember where I saw it. Oh the actress is Sarah Brown maybe? I just can’t believe that would be true and then have her be preggers too,
dvalParticipantif you are old enough to remember that ad campaign. And he was the next door neigbor on empty nest i think it was called. Spin-off from Golden Girls I think. He was a cruise ship employee always had the hots for the daughter, Kristy MacNichol I think. Showing my age I guess. He was always funny but always played kind of a smarmy sort of guy.
dvalParticipantAw I still call my grown up boys (28, 26, 24, 21) my baby boys. Sometimes lovingly, sometimes as a reminder that I am still their mother no matter how old they are. LOL. Dont think it means anythng more than that she gave birth to him and hhe will always in her mind be her baby.
dvalParticipantthere is only one thing I can say on that score and that is, as a woman who stayed at home because that is where I though I should be, I was on the receiving end of many criticisms exactly the opposite of your statement. People who thought there was something wrong with me because I didn’t want to work after I had my children. Never wanted to and fortunately didn’t have to. Lots of people took that to mean I wasn’t interested in my own goals. So I think when it comes to the double standard we women are capable of that on more than one side. We refuse to see that women are capable of choosing what makes them happy and fulfilled even if it is different from our chosen path. We don’t have to chose the path of breadwinner to be satisfied. And if we want to defend one side of the coin we need to be able to see the other side, too.
dvalParticipantthought the show was terrific. Well paced, well acted, well directed. I appreciated the slightly "first time" approach that was given to Maggie and Victor. I thought the stuff with Nicole and EJ was interesting and perhaps will lead to hiim actually becoming a different person. The part where Tay cracked Brady across his shoulders (not the back of his head) I coulda done without. But overall I thought it was well done. Oh, and I really enjoyed the Rafe/Dario scenes but I am sure this must be a precursor to something awful happening to Dario. (Don’t know, just saying that is usually how it goes, LOL). That poor Hernandez family can’t get a break. And I really wish the guys in charge would reconsider Dario. I really really love him with Melanie.
And I would just like to say that I agree with 53tdogs. It is easier for a woman who can afford help at home to be more diverse. Many of us, like me, were just happy to be able to stay at home and go work parttime when my youngest went to school. Otherwise it didn’t make sense to work cuz everything I made would have gone to hired help. I think that is all that was being said, not a crack at AS. She is fortunate. She can afford help to enable her to be work out of the home more frequently. Not a crack, just an valid observation.
dvalParticipantwas that seeing the impact on the secretary and line producer being unceremoniously dumped on a Friday afternnon (which by the way you are never supposed to do. You always fire on Monday so that the employee doesn’t have the whole weekend to sit around and feel bad but can immediately begin looking for new employment) is what set her off. Not about herself specifically but a general lack of common courtesy in the world today. She never comes across as thinking she was too good to lose her job, but does comment on the fact that an actress never knows how long her job is going to last. Her laments are mainly about the lack of class in the work place today and I can say I agree with her 199%.
dvalParticipantshe gets caught in the line of fire of a DiMera thug. Maybe EJ remembers Brady beating him up and has someone try to take him out?
dvalParticipantEJ will do anything to gain sympathy and then as soon as he thinks he has what he wanted, he will go back to being Elvis. My sympathy is fleeting. I still feel sorrier for Rafe who was drugged and held captive and Sami who was raped by EJ more than once and poor Sydney who was bounced al over the place because her dad is such a pompous fool. Sorry for EJ? If I thought he was sincere maybe but we all know he isn’t.
dvalParticipantactually it was a video that some actor who is going to play a reporter on DOOL in September or October posted. In it he showed a page of script that has a bit of the scene. EJ is surrounded by reporters who are there interviewing EJ about running for mayor against his brother in law. Now how this could possibly be true I have no idea, but this guy talked about how he has a British accent and EJ comments how much he likes that accent. Make of it what you will
dvalParticipantwas just Sami’s old insecurities popping up. but at least now she knows how to deal with her feelings and discussed it with Rafe right away. I also find that it makes me quite insecure when I am with people who begin speaking another language ito each other, that I don’t know, in my presence. My brain always goes to that place that wonders what don’t they want me to know. And not for nothing, but that Sophia could make any woman insecure. She was quite attractive.
dvalParticipantwas the editor.
dvalParticipantWasn’t Harold the guy who used to work for Jack at the Spectator?
dvalParticipantI was wondering how they were going to bring all these people back to town. Dedicating the Horton Town Square is a great way to do it!
dvalParticipantthat Stefano really didn’t want to do this in the first place but did it for EJ. Then EJ went and blew the whole thing over Taylor. Stefano hates Sami, Rafe, Nicole and now Taylor What he really wants is for EJ to find his "Katherine" and live a moderately happy life with somene as despicable as he is and never really fall in love. So it’s all EJ’s fault for not dumping all the women in his life and going along with Stefano’s ultimate plans and goals, if that makes sense.
