And I have never tried to like the Florida teams. They always say you can take the girl out of Pittsburgh, but you can’t take the Pittsburgh out of the girl. It is such a true statement. I am a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan no matter what. Even with the Pirates being awful, I still go to Pirate games when I make it up to Pittsburgh. But Football is my favorite sport. Heck, my hubby is from Philly and he roots for Pittsburgh teams more than Philly teams. It is bad with the husband switches teams, normally it is the other way around.
To someone else, so I don’t have to post two messages. I also enjoyed this Superbowl and I also wanted the Saints to win. Mainly because I didn’t like what Indy did in the regular season. I am sorry, as professionals you do not lay down and die two games before the season is over. You go for the record and try to win all games. Also, the Saints have never won, so I also liked them for that reason.
His last day was this past week. The last time we saw him he was running after Sami when she left the Pub and that was it. He is done. I will be curious to see if he comes back for the Alice scenes or if he has such a bad taste in his mouth that he decides to not come back. I know in SOD he said he would not come back to Days, that if Lucas came back it would be a different actor. Now that was before her death, so he may change his mind and come back for a show or two. Maybe when he does they can do a real exit.

I don’t think I had an option growing up in Pittsburgh. But I am really into football. I play fantasy football and everything. Now that I live in Florida, not all the games are on TV, so I got to a local place that has the games. Hate the food, but one of the few places I can get sound and not have to show up an hour before the game starts to get a seat!!!!Nathan is rebounding to Steph and in some ways using her, I agree. But I don’t think he is planning on hurting her. I think he thinks he has feelings for Steph. While he is a guy, I just don’t see him thinking his mind, I am going to use Steph until something better comes along.
So what about woman who watch Soaps and Football? I do
They would move her head to the middle to check her eyes and stuff like that and then could have moved it the other direction. So I won’t blame editing on that one, because there could be an explanation for that one.
Wouldn’t alll the ratings fir all soaps go up and therefore the placement wouldn’t change? Unless more people tape Days than any other soap. It would be interesting seeing the Soapnet ratings during that week too.
They sicken me because they do not belong together, because they have no chemistry. Steph is lying because she never gave Nathan the note and she KNOWS Nathan still has feelings for Mel. So she is lying to both herself and Nathan. Nathan is just trying to forget Mel and really doesn’t have true feelings for Steph. So he is lying to himself and Steph when he says he wants to be with her.
With the news networks. CNN is the closest you get to the middle, but even they miss the mark a lot. I am so sick of the Left or Right wing agenda. But honestly, I don’t think getting rid of the party system will help. Nor do I think it is possible to do that. People naturally take sides and they naturally have opinions that match one side or another.
I just think we need to stop going to the extremes of these sides. Why can’t we find a way to find the middle ground and not resort to fear to sway people to these extremes. I don’t think that will ever happen though, as fear seems to be a good tactic to get people to listen, no matter how irrational those fears are or the lies they are built on. I have to laugh at some of the e-mails I get, but then I think about it and it makes me sad that some people believe this garbage that the extremists put out there. You would not believe the amount of times I have to send the facts back to someone who blindly fowards an e-mail to me about what is going on in our nation and how I need to fear what is going on. People have stopped sending me those e-mails – lol I fact check way too much stuff
I know it is not a huge thing as the olympics seem to be very popular this year, but this is the first time anything has beaten Idol.
This olympics could be good news for NBC, but they aren’t playing it right. They are only advertising their new shows. Why aren’t they advertising some of their other shows. Does NBC not realize that there are a TON of people that never watch their station and therefore they know nothing about any of their shows?!? I would have expected some Days, Chuck, etc. commercials. I was going to list more they should advertise, but I don’t even know what their other shows are!!! So far the only show other than their 5 news ones I have seen advertising for is Biggest Loser. Stupid NBC, they are not taking advantage of these ratings very well.
I think when John and Marlena left, that was the end of Belle and Shawn coming back anytime soon. While Shawn would have family, Belle wouldn’t, so she wouldn’t have any friends or family in town. Sami wouldn’t be the closest, but she is always wrapped up into her own SL. I just don’t see them fitting into the scene right now.
Not children. He wants to claim them and have them all to himself because then he wins. I have thought that all along with EJ. If he thought otherwise he would have never kicked Sydney out of the house when he found out Sydney was not his blood daughter. He would have kicked Nicole out and kept Sydney. This SL made me lose a ton of respect for EJ.
Education has gone down in this country. I should know, I live in Florida and I can’t believe what goes on in this state and the education level that graduates come out at. I laugh at the no child left behind, because it was based on Florida’s school system which was ranked very low. But I will get off my soapbox on that one.
I don’t think it is all foul language shows that dumb down our country. Even our news programs dumb down the American population. I laugh at the things my Aunt tells my mom. She watches a news program (I won’t say which one) and all the do is say "one-liners", "slogans". etc. instead of facts. They flat out LIE to the American people to prove their point of view. If you check their so called facts at an unbiased place, they are wrong. I don’t think Americans have a chance to not be ignorant with news programs like that. I would love for news organization to actually dig into these bills and do two hour specials on some of these complex bills. They can explain them in a factual way, but for some reason our news organizations don’t think we can handle news like that. We can only handle the biased one-liners. I really wish the news organizations will go back to journalism and researching stories. How about they uncover the truth and report that truth in detail. Maybe that would make us less ignorant. One can dream, right?
My husband watches many foul language programs including the Family Guy. He is actually very smart. He also watches the History channel, discovery, etc. Because of everything he watches and reads he is a very well rounded individual. Shows like the family guy have their place, as in they are entertainment for some people. I don’t think we need to take those things away from people. We just need to find a way to make other programming more truthful and have some educational value to them.
I caught it on good days. I was never offended by any of his comments about females. Now I do know by the time I watched he had toned down his language quite a bit, so that could be it too.
Considering it is prime time, he would have to be on his best behavor, because I agree. A show like Idol should be PG as it is primetime and it currently is watched by many young viewers. Because of his reputation, I doubt they would put him on the show since many parents would not allow their kids to watch the show even though he would have to tone down his language.
Now would it be entertaining to have him on the show, sure. Heck I might even watch a couple episodes to see how he acts. I won’t watch the whole season, as I feel the show can get boring just being singers, but that is my personal opinion and I know it is not shared by the majority of the US. I remember back when star search was on, I wish I had a Tivo back then. I would always go to the bathroom, or something when the singers were on. I loved that show, but I hated the singing part.
