I think they may play on it, but I don’t think either couple will break up, nor will any of them actually cheat. Or at least I am hoping for that, because I can’t take another Carrie/Sami quad, the last one was a disaster and the writers should know that.
If Rafe had not been fired and he didn’t think it was Austin who did it, I don’t think Rafe would have had an issue with it. And since Sami had no clue what was going on, she couldn’t possibly predict what was going to happen. Rafe is all about helpng family, and Austin & Carrie are family. I think Sami did what she thought was right.
We never see the back half of the apartment to know how many bedrooms it is.
Didn’t mean to make this a huge debate. I think I was frustrated that day because I keep reading about the show hasn’t changed, or the dialog is slow, or we are back to the same crap, etc. I agree we all complain, I have too. And I would never want people not to be able to complain. And I don’t think Patti meant it that way either. My frustration comes out in the fact that some viewers are not seeming to give the new writers any slack. They had crap to work with when they took over this show and they have to really make a u-turn, which has to be extremly hard. I think they did a fantastic job of doing that u-turn and still not re-write history. Which had to be hard since some of that history was done by very bad writing.
With all that said, my bottom line was to just give it a chance, since we do not know the outcome of these SLs and the writers really need time to get everything moving. I have no issues with the small complaints, the issue I had was the blanket complaints about the show not improving and the writers not doing well, because I don’t think we have seen enough to know that. I probably put this post in the wrong thread, but I was frustrated and it just happened to get to the point where I wanted to say something.
Thank you Patti. I hadn’t been here because I was so behind in watching (sometimes upwards of 46 episodes) and I didn’t want to know the ending before I watched the beginning – lol I probably don’t have the time to be on here, but I do enjoy talking about days. I guess I just have been so excited about the show lately, so it gets me down when I read some posts. But I will try to weed through them better and stick around. I also didn’t mean it as a threat to leave either, I just was having a bad day myself. Happens a lot lately with twins and one being sick. So no one should ever take my posts to heart, because I may be half asleep when I write them
Honestly I don’t see what others are seeing. I think this writing is so much better and I am enjoying all the SLs. I don’t want to start to become negative just because I am reading so much negative stuff.
The SLs can’t end in a week, they need to have a middle and I think that is what we are seeing. It is hard because they all started at the same time. But I think they will end at different times allowing us to have beginning, middles, and endings going on at the same time. Which will make it more interesting.
I was not commenting on your post, well I was. I was agreeing with you and then in the next paragraph was responding to someone else who said Sami is not a good parent and leaves her kids with Grandma all the time. Sorry for the confusion.
The show is really good lately and while there are slight glitches, I think people are reading into the future too much. We don’t know who is behind the John mess. We also don’t know what will happen to Maggie and Victor. Some couples do have to have things come between them, if not, it would be VERY boring show. I personally like the mixture of couples. Some having issues because of work (Carrie & Austin), some happily working together (Bo & Hope), some secrets that could cause issues (Maggie & Victor), and even a triangle.
I think everyone should give a chance and not jump to conclusions. I personally said I would give the writers several months before deciding anything. Because you can’t judge writers from one scene or even one week. Because you have to see how the SLs develop, the pace of the middle of the SL, and how the end works out. And you won’t know any of that for a couple months.
Firms would do this. Because they will get paid. They are picking up the fees until his assets free up and then he will owe the money. That is what she stated. So you have someone like John that has a ton of money, large corporation, and all his lawyers quit. So what happens if they win this case? Not only will they get paid, but he probably would hire them on full time. So think of the money they make off of doing this one case. Sure it is a gamble, but it is a gamble a lot of firms will take to gain business.
She is reacting that way because she said she always wanted another child and that is why she held on to the eggs hoping she could use them some day. Now there is another child out there. So I can see why she is acting like she is.
I didn’t mean it that way. Just wanted to correct her age. I didn’t even read the part about everything she did because I think we all know Sami is no saint. But either are a lot of characters on the show that are good guys now like Julie and Jack. Past characters like Stephan were reformed too. I think since Sami has been with Rafe she has reformed a little bit and I think these new writers are looking to reform her the rest of the way.
I think Sami was messed up as a young kid by having multiple parents come in and out of her life (Marlena was there then gone, Roman was there then gone, then he was John, then he was roman again, etc), seeing her mother cheat, and then being raped. Lets face it she didn’t have a stable childhood, which made her who she was. Some times she went a little too far, but I blame some of that on bad writing (i.e. Stan!).
I am just willing to give this new working mom Sami a chance.
That could explain a lot. She seemed really upset on Dirty Soaps when she didn’t want to talk about it. It could be painful, need surgery, and be emotional because depending on the degree the doctors could be telling her she may not be able to have kids or will have trouble. I know how that news can be taken as I was told this at a very young age myself. Between that and not having a fmaily support system, I can see why she is feeling and looking the way she is.
They left together to move to Switzerland. They got married before they left and they have been gone for five years. In that time she went back to school to become a lawyer. I believe she already had her four year degree, so it would be two to become a lawyer. So she could be practicing for 2 1/2 years. While this would not be a lot normally to take on a big case, it is not like she had an option. Plus she has her entire firm behind her.
The one part of this SL that I do not like, is that they still live in switzerland. I wish the writers would have had them move into the states, go to school, and get jobs. That would make all of this a little more realistic. They could have done that without re-writing history since no one has really talked about where they live since Will came back from living with them. So it would have been very easy to do that.
Actually, Will would be 18 (first year in college) and Sami had him when she was 16, so 34 is her correct age.
I think that Sami is starting to grow up or should I say the writers are finally allowing her to grow up. But their are a ton of speed bumps going from a stay at home mother to a working mother and they are showing them in a realistic manner. I have REALLY enjoyed the Sami at work scenes and this whole Madison vs Kate war with Brady and Sami in the mix. It has made for some great dialog and I am impressed with the writers and how they are allowing some characters grow up that have needed to grow up for years.
And just because you have help with your kids does not mean you don’t care for your kids. I have always thought Sami lived her kids. She may have not always done the best things, but in her mind it was always for the kids. My mom watches my kids to allow me to get things done around the house, run errands, or even go out with my husband. I have 24 hour nursing for my son and I take advantage of that to catch up on things that are really behind after having twins. That does not make me a bad parent. I am realistic and know I need to catch up now before the help is gone.
But honestly not my favs. Never been a huge fan of them because they always seem boring or in bad SLs. But it also might have to do with when I started they were not a couple, I think Marlena was dead at the time or something like that.
We are so used to the tired who’s the daddy SLs it will be nice change of pace to have the who’s the baby SL
I thought the look was shock on victors face, but I am sure something in this SL will bring tention to Vic & Maggie because we can’t have an automatic pairing, they need some kind of obsticals.
