They are trying to wrap things up quickly. Reports are it could finish this weekend perhaps, so maybe just two more preemptions.
Jason47ParticipantYes, they were getting back to 8 episodes (even more than usual) before they had to shut down again a few weeks ago. If they have any more shutdowns, there’s a chance they could run out of episodes this time (much quicker than last time), so I guess they will try to bank as many episodes as possible to prepare for that possibility.
Jason47ParticipantWe are now hitting the pandemic episodes, so this was probably the last chance for them to have used a real baby in a scene for the rest of 2020 and possibly 2021. So I’d suggest getting used to the noises, at least for Henry.
Jason47ParticipantEpisodes through 10/5 were all March.
Episodes from 10/6-10/19 are a mixture of March & September.
Episodes from 10/20-onward should be all September.
Jason47ParticipantThey will sometimes preempt Days when a sports event is going to air in portions of the country (even though not all time zones are affected). So Eastern affiliates (or in the case on Friday, Central & Mountain affiliates as well) have to use filler programming such as syndicated shows or infomercials in place of Days.
Jason47ParticipantIt’s tennis preemptions on October 8 and 9. These were the preemptions we were supposed to have June 4 and June 5.
Jason47ParticipantGolf is airing Thursday and Friday. It starts after 2PM ET, so ET stations have to fill the Days slot with syndicated programming and infomercials, as yours did.
Jason47ParticipantWith the shows moving up almost 3 weeks, they will run out of new episodes around the second week of October. There’s nothing official set in stone as of yet that I know of, but the show may try to do something to account for the holidays moving up 3 weeks. They’ve already written through New Year’s Eve, so that may entail re-writing almost 40 episodes to fix the airdates for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Jason47ParticipantThey have enough episodes to last now through around October 6, give or take a few days.
Jason47ParticipantThe weddings will all be airing on Tuesdays instead of Fridays due to the French Open being postponed. So the weddings should take place on Tuesday 6/30, 7/7, 7/14 and 7/21 (which was the Olympics 17-day cliffhanger). With no Olympics, the 17-day cliffhanger should now air just 24 hours later on Wed. 7/22 (instead of Mon. 8/10).
Jason47ParticipantTaped through end-of-October-ish. Not known how many are fully edited in post production, or if that work will be able to continue.
Jason47ParticipantHer last episode aired on 12/24. She was removed from NBC’s credits the next day.
Jason47ParticipantNovember 8 is the time jump. Not a one-day thing.
Jason47ParticipantHere’s the two press releases I posted on my FB page:
NBC NEWS SPECIAL REPORT COVERAGE TO PREEMPT “DAYS” FOR EASTERN/CENTRAL TIME ZONE VIEWERS ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 24…
NBC News special report coverage is set to air from approximately 8:15AM ET until around 3:00PM ET on Wednesday, July 24. This means “Days” will be preempted for all Eastern and Central time zone viewers. If coverage wraps by 3PM ET, most Mountain and Pacific time zone viewers should get the episode as planned. Viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones will have to watch “Days” online or on the App.
UPDATE FOR SPECIAL REPORT PREEMPTION ON WEDNESDAY 7/24…AFFILIATES MAY AIR “DAYS” ON A SECONDARY CHANNEL (SUCH AS COZI TV)With the special report coverage expected to preempt most, if not all, of NBC’s schedule from 8:15AM until around 3PM ET on Wednesday 7/24, affiliates may air “Days” on a secondary channel, such as Cozi TV, so be sure to record the secondary channel on Wed. 7/24 just in case you want to see “Days” live. Not all affiliates may do this, but some may.
Jason47ParticipantPretty quickly now. I update the chart each day after watching. Then it might take an hour or so to get the monthly stats done at the end of each month.
