I’m not holding my breath. Something will happen, Nicole will skate, so will EJ if/when the truth ever comes out about the Sydnapping. What about Stefano’s apparent poisoning of Anna? That will go unacknowledged too, I’m sure.
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantI’m not easily offended, but yeah, dropping an f-bomb was rather unnecessary and shows a lack of couth.
Of course I don’t think James/EJ is all that and a bag of chips anyway, but that made him even less attractive in my eyes.

June 14, 2010 at 12:17 pm in reply to: This past week – Hope “surprised” by the Divorce Papers?! #13622imported_JennMParticipantWhen Hope "came back from the dead" and the whole Princess Gina fiasco was winding down, when it was discovered that PG was really Hope, Bo was involved with Billie, and when it came down to a choice, he chose Billie, which totally enraged the fans.
I think shortly after that was the whole Georgia stillbirth fiasco that was totally re-written later on when it was revealed that Chelsea was really, "Georgia" who didn’t die in Billie’s arms in the swamp… GAWD that was some lame storytelling…
That was the one time I can think of when Bo didn’t drop anyone/everyone else like a hot potato, for Hope.

imported_JennMParticipantI’d assume that Alice has home care nurses or hospice or something although they haven’t mentioned it.
They never mentioned if the house is still being used as the Horton Center (but I doubt it – it didn’t look ‘institutionalized’ like it did in recent years when it *was* the Horton Center).
My guess is that everyone coming in from out of town will be staying at Maggie’s, and as such, they’d go there first to drop off their luggage, freshen up, and get caught up on Alice’s condition etc., before going over there to visit her.
At least that’s what makes the most sense to me.

If he’s really truly moved on with Carly, (which I don’t think he has), then he wouldn’t have been so super-attentive to Hope. I can see him wanting to see Alice etc., but his being there for Hope and all that… well if he’s truly in a committed relationship with Carly, it’s totally inappropriate for him to be as intimate (emotionally) with Hope.
It’s not fair to any of them. Carly is taking a back seat (and she thusfar seems OK with that), Hope is playing "dog in the manger" – she didn’t want Bo when it suited her, and now that she "needs" him he’s supposed to forget about Carly and himself and do right by her…
And like I said, Bo needs to grow some stones and pick one.
Even if Hope isn’t ready/doesn’t want him or whatever, if he’s still in love with her, or isn’t over her, he has no business being with anyone else.
I’ll say this though – it’s a situation that many real-life people get into (been there, done that)… and it never ends well for anybody.
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantAnd I could picture it in my mind’s eye too.
I wonder if Nathan is even old enough to remember Tom? Given SORAS and all…
I rather kind of enjoyed the look on Carly’s face when she came in to see Hope in Bo’s arms – even *she* knows that Hope is the one who belongs with Bo. Too bad neither Bo nor Hope seem to realize it. I’m glad that Maggie and Julie mentioned it too.
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantIn fact the current administration just loves Chavez.
I’m sticking with Cuba (although Georgia’s governor just took a trip there within this past week to discuss trade with Cuba…)
Of course, Salem is in a parallel universe so who knows?
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantAnd he wandered out chasing a cat or something.
And of course the sitter wasn’t charged with any sort of negligence. But then Chelsea didn’t really pay either.
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantI actually do like Sami with Rafe… but that’s beside the point. What Corday says and what actually happens don’t always match.
He probably can’t reveal the details because they have no idea how they will get from point A to point B… over the last ump-teen years, storylines have been so scattered that there never seems to be an outcome in mind from the onset. I think writers back in the day would start with point A but know what the eventual point B would be, and then write all kinds of twists and turns to get there, but knowing full well where they’d end up.
Now they just seem to fly by the seat of their pants, and the chips fall where they may, and usually leave a stream of inconsistencies and loose ends.
I was never a fan of Sami and Lucas – the character of Lucas was always weak and submissive. I’ve seen Bryan D’Atillo on other TV shows and video clips, and he seems infinitely more attractive when he’s being himself, or at least "not Lucas" but Lucas is just a really weak character to me. And it’s not Bryan’s portrayal either – it’s the stuff the character is made of (or the lack of "stuff".)
EJ – well so many people are all over the moon because he’s English and all that stuff.. well my Dad is English so I’m not all "Anglophile" over him. He’s a good looking guy I suppose, but he’s not the type that appeals to me either. I will agree that I’d much prefer to see him in casual clothes – who plays with their kids while wearing a suit and tie anyway??? Hate to see his dry-cleaning bill!! I wish he’d go back to a shorter haircut too – the Jimmy Stewart-style long, slicked back sort of look was nice when It’s a Wonderful Life was filmed, but I don’t think it’s very becoming now.
I seem to remember when EJ was a race car driver, he wore casual clothes, and he looked a lot better, IMO. At least dress for the circumstances. Courtroom/business, fine. At home playing with the kids – how about jeans or at least khakis or sweats or *something*.
Now I’m just rambling
I wouldn’t take Corday’s words to the bank – been disappointed on that plenty of times before… but for what it’s worth, I’d rather see Sami with Rafe, regardless of who all the baby daddies are.
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantI thought he was wearing boxers too but I think they were pajama pants.
The writers (and the actor) seem to have forgotten that Philip lost a leg. No more limp… no indication that he’s got something missing.
I was almost expecting them to do a full-body shot of him in his jammies so that you’d see he had 2 legs.
Maybe in Salem, a lost limb can grow back. After all, he had a face transplant, maybe they did a leg transplant too.
BTW – this is not making fun of real-life amputees. On the contrary, I think Days is making a mockery out of being an amputee.
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantSince Shane was talking about Kim, it could be foreshadowing…
Maybe they’ll reunite at Alice’s funeral/memorial and go off into the sunset together again?
I wouldn’t mind if they stuck around…but with the current writers, they might end up as stale as Steve and Kayla were I wouldn’t like that.

June 9, 2010 at 11:31 am in reply to: I’ll keep this one separate from the medical mess, but… #13490imported_JennMParticipantThis storyline is way too familiar, right down to the "Otis" bit. Unless I’m crazy (which could be argued!), I am almost certain that this exact same scenario has been done on Days before… including the saboteur named Otis.
And you’re right about elevators having safety devices to prevent them plummeting. I thought Otis said something about being on the 10th floor (but I may have heard that incorrectly). If there is a 10th floor at Salem University Hospital, there wouldn’t be a hydrolic pole, but you’re right, there certainly would be emergency brakes.
As usual, it’s all about "da plot".
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantBut only came to me when somebody mentioned there was no consulate or whatnot. It’s the only Spanish-speaking country that I could think of right away. That doesn’t mean I have it right – I’m no political science expert by any means.
But yeah, for an obscure place, there’s quite a connection to Salem!
BTW – has Anna just been dropped off the canvas? She was in hospital, are we to assume that they’ll come back to her at some point and she’s just in suspended animation til then, (and Stef hasn’t finished her off without Rafe to protect her?)…or is that just going to be another loose end that never gets tied up?
Jenn
imported_JennMParticipantBut totally confusing
