JohnnyboyParticipant
Living in a van down by the river?
JohnnyboyParticipantWhen she shot EJ, there was a silencer on the gun as it made a muffled noise. Was there a silencer on the gun she picked up from the bed? I doubt if EJ sat there contemplating shooting himself, there would be a silencer.
Is it possible someone behind her shot him with a silencer on the gun then? And she imagined pulling the trigger? Of course this is too obvious here, so expect the least likely person (if there is someone else) to have pulled the trigger.
JohnnyboyParticipantSure there are despicable characters on the show, but let us assess EJ and what he has done. This is only what I remember of course.
Raped Sami. Shot John Black in the head or somewhere. Kidnaped his own child and made people think she was dead.
Dealt drugs. Manipulated people and situations and at times makes Stefano look like a choir boy.
So what are his positives? Smooth? Sexy? Yeah, that and $1 at the Java Cafe will get you mediocre coffee.
Evil people deserve to pay for their sins no matter what we think of them. Sami is no saint either, in fact almost every character on the show has done something they are not proud of. But EJ has done many more bad things than a redeemable character ever would attempt. And remember too he was going to get back at Sami by making her think he loved her, which they sort of forgot that plot thread too. He was going to hurt her that way too.
Anyway good to see him get his just desserts and we hope Sami will never forgive and forget his atrocities this time.
JohnnyboyParticipantOh give little Stephanie a break. She is not that bad an actress. How else can she play it with the scenes written for her. She is an attactive young woman and for those who want to "vomit" when they see her, you really need Tums or Rolaids or something strong for that condition.
Sometimes you guys here are more fun than the show itself with your delicate tummy conditions and how some people or scenes make you want to throw up. I have never in my life watched a show or seen an actor that made me want to heave. If you cannot tolerate such scenes, gee Sesame Street is still on the air I think, or another tummy friendly sitcom.
JohnnyboyParticipantI was totally moved too, seeing the heart and soul of the writers. You could see the people in the background wiping their eyes, and that was not just glycerine or whatever they use to induce tears. Some of the speeches as well might have been a bit ad-libbed as well. She was like a mother to many cast members and it was truly like losing a member of the family.
For all we hate about this show, moments like these make us realize why we love this show and keep coming back to watch it. I really had a 5 hankie episode watching it, and I am not ashamed to admit that as a guy, I really felt the waterworks flowing big time. Frances Reid was a class act all the way, and watching all those old scenes was like a magical elixir, a fountain of youth, where she will always be just the way she was in our hearts.
From that first day to season 45, we hope this hourglass will never run out…
JohnnyboyParticipantI thought that was cheesy too. Product placement is notorious in movies, but in a soap now?
Obviously Nature Valley must be a sponsor or will offer the show some money for the plug.
Maybe they will do this one day with condoms that nobody in the show seems to wear anyway. Imagine someone holding up a box of condoms and saying something like. "Wait let me slip into this (insert brand) condom. Goodness only knows we need to spare Salem from another genius, that will be 5 years old within the first trimester."
Oh for the good old days of the soaps, so innocent and so realistic. I was so loving these flashbacks of Mrs. Horton and the interaction with the cast members who have returned. Savor these moments everyone, because they are long gone and today’s writing is a shoddy excuse for plot development.
JohnnyboyParticipantI could see the angst and guilt if he was coming back long term and we could see how this played out. I thought that these characters were only coming for the death and funeral and then they would fade into the sunset, never to return again possibly. I would love to see a few of them stay on, but that is not too likely.
JohnnyboyParticipantI thought EJ had something to do with it so he can discredit Rafe in Sammi’s eyes and take away from his relationship with her.
Other than that, who else even though the DA is a slimeball would do this? Obviously Rafe is not the culprit.
JohnnyboyParticipantI can predict that Anna will take the fall now. He will say he got the baby back from her, call the cops and they will find her with $5 million in the suitcase. Of course no one will believe her side of the story. Rafe will eventually. But this to me looks like how it will play out. Anyone agree?
JohnnyboyParticipantJust based on what we are seeing, or how it is perceived, Vivian will likely try and kill Mia to get back at Carly, thinking that is the real daughter. But it seems Melanie is the real daughter. Somehow, you can see Carly coming to the rescue of Mia and it might put her in Melanie’s good graces.
The new batch of Days’ writers don’t have the same inventive spirit for plots as the ones from the heyday of the show. Too much predictability and the imagination quotient has gone out the window. It will make it interesting when it comes out that Dan is the father. It would not have surprised me if the writers had stuck Bo with another child, but thankfully they did not go for the obvious plot wrecker.

Hope is Doug’s daughter according to my recollection of the show from the 60’s and 70’s. Addie was Hope’s mother. I remember the Friday show when Addie was hit by the car. I recall the screech of brakes and then the finality of it all. It was a Friday cliffhanger!
At least I think based on my old old brain!! LOL…I have been a Days watcher since my grandparents’ day who watched it from Day 1.
