OH MY!!! I am so healous of you right now!!! I was raised in Pine Knot (Close to the Tenn border) and then moved to the Lake Cumberland (Somerset area) when I was 9 years old. Go back at least once a year for a family reunion! I most definitely will be retiring there!
kprstrsParticipantGod has me in Iowa right now, but I am Kentucky born and bred. Appalachian Mountain region…you?

I served (Army) from 81 to 84 and one of the very reasons I got out was because of the double standards and my fellow soldiers thinking that if I wasn’t the whore, I was ‘butch’! WHATEVER!!! I missed the Grenada incident by just about 5 weeks, and although I would have gone in a heartbeat, I was bowing to and praising God that I didn’t have to!!
kprstrsParticipantAgree or not I just LOVE your ‘name’!!! Cornbread…reminds me of Momma and home!!

kprstrsParticipantOr better yet…Gag a maggot on a gut wagon!!! My niece would say, ‘Gag me with a rectal thermometer’!!!
kprstrsParticipantNow we all have something to complain about for at least 2 more years!!!

I freeze it to cook with a cup at a time. Then it doesn’t take any time at all really to thaw! I even pop it in the microwave to thaw sometimes.

I HATE throwing food out, so I invested in some quart size mason jars and lids, and it keeps pastas and coffees ‘fresh’. I put my oatmeal, flour, cormeal, ANYTHING I can think of goes in one so it does not spoil! I got gallon sized jars for flour and meal and Splenda (or sugar).
kprstrsParticipantYep, that’s the one I meant!! I had such a time trying to remember HIS name that I botched hers!!
kprstrsParticipantWhat about Pete and Lisa?
kprstrsParticipantYeah, me too neither!! But they say there is another ‘surprise twist’ to it. I say "Whatever!!"
kprstrsParticipantI figured it was coming down to that, but I still can’t figure out the WHY of it!
kprstrsParticipantI have worked in the penal systen for 24 years (this Dec). Trust me, I won’t be doing the crime, either!! I sure don’t want to have to LIVE there!!!
kprstrsParticipantMy sentiments EXACTLY!!! Well said. BRAVO!!
