Patti, your comparison is right on. But I think the writers did it on purpose. They purposely are making Nick a "hypocritical Christian", one who picks and chooses what parts of the Bible in which to believe, or selectively chooses which parts to which to adhere.
I believe that the writers are doing this because it reflects their views of Christians and Christianity, which is not flattering at all. As you all know, this is very common in Hollywood.
I have not watched for a while because the show was not interesting and has been completely repetitious. However, one day during lunch, I sat down to watch it. The sex scene w/ Will came on and it turned my stomach. I immediately switched channels and will not watch again. Maybe this makes me a hypocrite, too (since Bonbon is right–pre-marital sex is also taboo, as well as fraud, lying, stealing, adultery, lust, covetousness, murder, etc ).
I have been watching since the 1980s; I can watch no longer.
I sure was hoping that EJ dropped Sami there at the end. Here’s hoping. (Though I do like the white blouse and pink jacket!)
And good heavens, could Nicole be more whiny, pushy and clingy? Leave the man alone… he wants to help search for his daughter! It’s a bit hard to do when one has a flippin’ needy parasite attached to one’s side.
Victor and Maggie look great; Bo and Hope look great; Marlena and John look great. Is that a grey streak in Marlena’s hair? Wow, she still looks great. I feel so bad for Abe. Not a big fan of Madison’s but I absolutely LOVE her dress.
Kate even looked good tonight despite the bazaar thing in her hair.
I must confess that it has been ages since I watched the show. Y’all have much more patience and stamina than I. I gather from 1 or 2 threads that there is supposed to be new writers?
This character is beyond pathetic. It is sad to watch, really.
And Carrie? I do not think she will ever recover any modicum of respect after this Rafe BS.
I really didn’t take it that way because Nicole said several times that she wasn’t taking his money, but he didn’t back down. I sure hope you are right, though!
And today, Rafe was talking about having to go to work to "support" the baby. WTH??? This is dumber than dumb….but at least it keeps Rafe and Carrie apart!
Its in my head….my eyes hurt! Hahaha. Can’t you just visualize, too, that she is the kind of woman who wears shoes about 1/2 size too small (must have those dainty feet) so that the toes hang over the top and sides! Ewwwwwww! Thanks a lot girl!

the comments from y’all about jewlery and sex are hysterical. Don’t y’all know that you have sex, finish and wake up in the morning with full make-up (no running mascara) and full jewlery, and hey, sometimes your stilettos, too! What, you are actually naked when you have sex???

Those are the 2 things I noticed, too. I guess rich men still wear those smoking jackets or lounge coats in some circles.
But, what excuse does Kate have? Really. Those went out in the 80’s. Completely unattractive. Do you think she does that on purpose? Surely, she doesn’t think she looks good in it, does she?

and believe she is her own worst enemy, and further believe that everything Marlena tells her is true. But you are absolutely right in this one: Marlena’s double standard here is plain wrong.
Did she get in trouble for knowing her mother changed some test (can’t remember which one—Phillip’s baby??) It is just unrealistic that she would be waiting tables.
