MKParticipant
I always thought she was very pretty but in the last few years, I thinks she looks like she’s had too much plastic surgery. Doesn’t look natural. And yes, she is way too skinny.
MKParticipantI’m rooting for JR all the way as well! Ricki is great too but JR has natural rhythm AND an infectious personality! I just smile when he dances. He seems like he’s having the time of his life and really appreciates every second he is on the show. I’m sure after all he’s been through that he has a deeper appreciation for life and lives each moment to the fullest. What a truly uplifting, inspirational person.
MKParticipantLacey should talk. The judges have been pretty easy on Chaz (not talking about the penguin comment which was completely unneccessary). I think Chaz has received higher scores than he should and I like Chaz and give him a lot of credit for undertaking this but he’s getting higher scoring for his effort not his dancing.
I agree that the judges sometimes do have their favorites and can definitely be inconsistent with the scores reflecting that favoritism. That absolutely happens and I’ve been upset too in the past at the judges comments/scores. But Hope is no dancer. Maybe Len shouldn’t have said that it was her worst dance yet though I agree with him completely on his assessment. But Maks made matters worse when he said that he IS the show. Can’t wait for tonight’s show!
MKParticipantI watched the first episode with Ashton Kutcher and thought it was pretty good. And I saw last week’s show which was just okay. I didn’t see last night’s show as I was recording two other shows. I think his character is going to wear thin after a while as it’s as if he is just reading the lines in the most monotone voice there is. Don’t know if it’s the actor or the character as I’ve never seen him in anything else. He acts like a moron and he’s supposed to be a millionaire?
I did watch a lot of the shows when Charlie Sheen was on it and I enjoyed it for the most part though I don’t think his acting in it was that great–I think he was just playing himself. I can’t see this show lasting much longer since they’ve pretty much done every outlandish thing there is to do on non-cable TV. I also can’t believe this show is on at 9:00 EST. It’s pretty raunchy at times. Also, I wish Ashton would cut his hair and shave the beard. Not a good look.
MKParticipantAlso, forgot to mention, I thought Lacey looked mad. I know she wasn’t pleased with Chaz in rehearsals but she even seemed mad at the judges. And she certainly wasn’t happy in the interview after the dance. Maybe she’s just had enough this season with trying to teach Chaz and wants to be voted off.
MKParticipantThat was a terrific love scene with John and Marlena. As I’ve said before, I’m not partial to love scenes but this one was done so incredibly well. You could feel the passion and the love between them. And yes, John looked mmmm mmmm good!
MKParticipantAbsolutely agree. Been there, done that. Watching Friday I got an uncomfortable feeling of things to come with Carrie, Austin, Sami. Hope they don’t go there. Come up with something new!
MKParticipantBonbon, I couldn’t have said it better myself. This board is all about our opinions however different they may be. We’ve ALL criticized the show which is fair game but I don’t think posters themselves should be criticized for having a criticism about the show. And I don’t think any of us takes Days seriously when we criticize the show. That’s part of the fun of the board, seeing differing opinions and comments. We know it’s not real life, it’s entertainment, and even when I don’t like a storyline, actor, etc. and express it, I don’t get overly anxious or upset about it. We come to the board to vent and it’s all good fun. It’s fun even to complain about the show as I don’t get bothered by it. It’s just a show. It’s part of the fun. When I complain, it’s not the same kind of complaining as say, when I complain about taxes or politicians, for example. I love the show even if there’s stuff I don’t like. It’s pure escapism. I am a positive person and I am tired of certain people always complaining about others’ so-called negative posts. IMO, they are not negative, they’re expressions, comments of how we feel about the show. It’s ONLY a show! We are ALL entitled to our opinions of the soap we love.
MKParticipantLast week I posted similar concerns about the repeated dialog. At least before the change of writers, the conversations moved along much better. I am fast forwarding more now which doesn’t bother me too much only because it leaves me more time to watch all the other shows I record! It’s hard to keep up sometimes.
Bonbon, it did enter my mind too about Carrie and Rafe, but only for a second. I really don’t think it was meant to portray anything to come between them and I don’t think the writers will go in that direction. That would be a terrible storyline!
MKParticipantAs I think Brooke had said, it would have been great to see Carson make it to next week which is Broadway week. It certainly would have been entertaining!
JR for me all the way!
MKParticipantFor me, the unbelievability comes from Sami just being Sami, not from her being a little disorganized and juggling her kids and everyday life stuff. That did add realism to it but for me that’s not the problem. It has more to do with her qualifications and her overall temperament. I just can’t see her in an executive position. She’s too immature.
MKParticipantThis answers the question I was going to post on how Sami qualifies for this executive position. I, too, didn’t remember of her past experience. Even so, watching Madison and Sami in yesterday’s show just registered as unbelievable to me. Unbelievable that a very prominent, successful businesswoman such as Madison would hire Sami for an executive level position. Even if Sami does have some prior experience for this position, she is too hot-headed and rash in her decision making. I just can’t see her in this storyline but am willing to give it a chance.
MKParticipantI agree about the music, Patti. I was looking forward to the whole 80’s theme last night mostly for the costumes since I was a teenager during that time, but I knew that the music would most likely not fit the dances. And I was right. This has been a complaint of mine practically since the beginning of the show. Even if a dance is technically perfect and has a lot of emotional expression along with it, there’s no way it will look as great as it could be if the music isn’t right for it. The music must fit the flavor of the dance to make me feel the dance or else the dance feels empty to me.
And I also love JR. He has natural rhythm and can express the emotions of the dance which makes me really get into his dancing. Dancing to the song they danced to last night, "Conga", really did fit the flavor of the dance. I always loved that song.
MKParticipantI can’t wait! I love Halloween and seeing all the characters dressed up will be awesome! I’m sure there will be a lot of intrigue as well. Should be very exciting.
MKParticipantI thought it was boring, too. I fast-forwarded a lot of it because conversations were dragging on and on. I know I’m in the minority, but most of the week I’ve found boring except when Marlena/John/Carrie/Austin were on. I hope this isn’t an indication of things to come with characters saying the same ole’ thing over and over again and nothing really happens. We’ve been through that before. I thought the writing (not necessarily the storylines) was better before the new writers took over. At least the dialog kept moving along. I’m not down on the show, just commenting. I’m just bored with the dialog. I don’t expect things to be faced paced, I know storylines have to develop slowly, but rehashing the same conversations is not going to keep my attention. I really wish I could be excited with all of these storylines, but as of now, I’m not.
And I could do without all these "celebrity" appearances by Nate Berkus, the millionaire matchmaker chick, and Terry Seymour, the ever-annoying reporter. I think this has been bothering me too. I don’t know why but somehow I think it cheapens the show. It doesn’t feel like Days to me when they are on.
At least I get to see John now! That’s definitely a plus and that’s a fact!!!!! LOL
