You contradict yourself. Even if it was illegal, Eric was lead to believe it was on the up and up. Trask provided her services. And again, it’s Eric’s child. He never had to adopt his own child. He willingly signed papers because that is the “legal” thing to do when one adopts a child. Where’s the conspiracy on Eric’s part? Eric, Jude, and Nicole are all victims of Sloan and Trask. Even, in the end, EJ is a victim. He was lead to believe he was the biological father, then he was lead to believe he lost his child, then when he found out the baby was alive, he believed it was his child which is why he immediately went to Sloan. When Sloan said the baby was Eric’s, EJ asked for a DNA test and not until that moment, did EJ become in the wrong. That’s when he chose to keep his mouth shut. There’s a big tangled web of guilt here, but Eric is not one of the guilty.

But this is not ignorance of the law. The crime was when Sloan and Melinda illegally kept Jude and made up an adoption story. Eric was ignorant of a law—like not knowing you can’t pull through in a parking space in some cities. He had a bona fide lawyer presenting him with a child and adoption papers. He just didn’t know how Jude came to them. When he found out the child was Nicole’s, he immediately took Jude to her. And in reality, Jude is his so even if he had kept Jude, he wasn’t breaking a law. He is the father of Jude, legally.

But regardless of an adoption, legal or not, Eric is Jude’s biological father. In reality, no matter what happens, Eric is the daddy, EJ is not and there is no legal standing to do anything to Eric. On the other hand, when it comes out that EJ knew, maybe he could be legally in trouble.

I had read that Carlivati was ready to wrap up some of these stories that dragged out during the writers’ strike. I was surprised that Gabi was the one who revealed everything, but glad she did. Since Nicole is leaving this month, I’m glad they are wrapping up the story. Maybe she and Eric will go to Paris together with baby Jude.

I do wonder if they really meant for Connie to be Li’s murderer or if that was an easy way to wrap it up. We haven’t seen Connie in ages and then we see her twice in one episode. My question is how is Bobby/Everett tied to this? Was he even in town when Li was murdered? Since July is sweeps month (we have sweeps in February, July, and November), I’m guessing they want to wrap up a lot of stories so they can move on to new ones for November.

I don’t know where it’s going. I’ll be honest, I think I’d be more interested if it were the old Tate. New Tate is a fine actor, but he really is way too old to be believable as a teenager. I am just thinking about how he’s old enough that he would have been better as a relationship interest for Claire, if they brought her back. I just think it was poor casting. That said, when Nicole leaves, where will Holly go? Will she stay at the Dimera mansion? Will she leave too? Will she move in with Maggie or Eric? Where does she fit in without her mother? I would also like to say that the Everett/Bobby story is interesting? Why did they just ship him off to the mental hospital and leave it like that? I’m glad the real writers are back, but storylines seem so chopped off with no clear plan going forward.

The last thing I remember is Harris being mad at her for trying to go out on her own so she could kill Clyde. I guess this week will be his last week and I’m wondering how they will play this out. I’d actually be happy if Ava leaves with Harris.

Just an observation, you seem to be obsessed with gay couplings.

I’m not getting any Tate and Aaron vibes. Tate only has eyes for Holly. And I don’t know where they are going with the entire Greene family. Seems like that might be important in the future, especially since Salem is beginning to be a bit incestual.

I’m going to wait and see where this goes. I have heard that Leo is going to get a love interest and the he is going to have a big storyline coming up. So, who know how Leo Stark and Mark Greene will pan out.

What the heck are you looking at? Al Calderon is a grown man! Jude is a 6 month old baby. And trust me, they look nothing alike.

I love green! I’m not bothered by the color, but to be honest, aside from a new sofa and curtains, it doesn’t look any different to me. Still looks like an old lady’s house. It’s like they were trying to introduce some farmhouse touches but mingled it with traditional and missed the mark on both. Just my opinion.

I personally think it was all just to set up the time capsule in the fireplace. I sure hope we’ll get a big payoff for that. Otherwise, I’m going to be really stumped as to why they had to have a fire. In reality, Julie could have updated the house without the fire. She did that several years ago with the Martin house where Will and Paul lived.

I don’t think that guy is going to play Dario. I heard he was supposed to be Leo’s new love interest.

I don’t know if there would be a made up Li, but I do not believe Li Shin is dead. Rolf was still in play when Li died. I have thought that Rolf saved Li like he did Will and so many others. They love bringing Rolf back always with someone from the dead. I did not realize Peter Porte was in the group photo, but I am curious as to what the plan is for his character, if he’ll be seen in December. I think that’s when the tribute to Doug and the milestone episode will air.

It doesn’t matter if Eric’s DNA was used or not, two people had DNA on file when testing Jude’s DNA. One was Sloan’s, because she feared Eric would be a match. The other was EJ’s because his was on file from the genetic testing he and Nicole had done when Nicole’s pregnancy was announced as high risk. When Nicole asked to have a test done to solve the who’s the daddy, she didn’t take EJ’s, Sloan volunteered to get Eric’s but then took her own. Jude’s DNA was compared against Sloan’s DNA—no match. When the genetic testing was done, it was conclusive that Embryo Jude was not a match to EJ, but Sloan took the results, pretending she was Nicole, and then altered them. Later, when Nicole swore Jude was her baby, they didn’t test Nicole’s DNA, they used EJ’s, which was on file. Again, it didn’t match to EJ so everyone concluded Jude wasn’t Nicole’s baby. You can twist things every which way, but the baby is Eric’s, not EJ’s.

Well said, @doolfan. I constantly feel like it’s arguing for argument’s sake.
