PattiParticipant
and, yes, at times she does go a little too far, but Lauren may be the one actress who can pull it off. I think whether she’s wearing ruffles up to her cheekbones, or a sleek pantsuit with a necktie, she looks very stylish. I think I read somewhere that she has a lot of input when it comes to her wardrobe, so she probably dresses very similar in her own life. She’s a beautiful woman and, in most cases, can make her wardrobe work for her.
PattiParticipantIf E.J. was unconscious on that bed with a 12-inch dagger in his heart, a self-inflicted hole in his head, bleeding profusely from every hole in his face, no pulse, and on fire, I still would have shot him again, just to make sure he wasn’t faking it. All kidding aside (which, I know, most of you think I’m not), I don’t think she WAS in her right mind. Taking into account what she had just been through, and that she almost married this man, only to come face to face with the realization that he was planning to do it all over again by taking the kids the very next day and running off with them once again, I could easily believe she experienced a loss of control of her actions. All she was thinking was that she wasn’t about to let it happen again, so she didn’t think about it, she just reacted to it. I don’t know that too many mothers would not have done the same thing in her case. Actually, for the first time, perhaps, I think she truly thought about her children instead of consequences she was about to bring upon her own self.
PattiParticipantlooks to me like Jennifer Gray has this one in the bag. The Situation is gone, as predicted by most of us, and I’m afraid unless she improves dramatically, Bristol should be next on the chopping block. She’s a beautiful girl and has improved, but she’s just too darned stiff in her upper body moves. And, as much as it grieves me to say it, that sweet, sweet quarterback, Kurt Warner, or maybe Florence, will probably be next. The rest of the contestants all show promise and great improvement each week, but I still think Jennifer had it wrapped up from day 1. She is still as beautiful a dancer today as she was when she and Patrick lit up the dance floor so many years ago. You go, Jennifer, cause ‘nobody puts baby in the corner.’
PattiParticipantthe ‘tinsman’ forgot to give him one. As for Rafe resigning, I agree, it does make sense that his reasoning would be a ‘conflict of interest.’ If he were still FBI, he would HAVE to arrest Sami if he were committed to upholding the law, or else once the truth came out, he would be fired for withholding information, even if that information was only suspicion. Of course, he could lie, like everyone else in Salem seems to have no problem with, but Rafe’s doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy that would do that. He’s too committed to his worth ethics. However, if they were married, he could not be forced to testify against Sami, so he’ll probably stick with her alibi. As for E.J., the writers have turned him into something comparable to that yellow jello he was eating yesterday up to this point. We’ll see just how big his heart is when he starts plotting his revenge. As for spending time with his children, that will be a matter for the court to decide, depending, of course, on who the judge is and how deep in the DiMeras’ pockets he/she is.
PattiParticipantthey should get in touch with John and Marlena and have them hire Rafe as Sami and the kids’ personal bodyguard. Sami has money (did she ever get her $5 million back from Nicole?), but Rafe only quit the FBI so he couldn’t testify against Sami if and when they ever marry and Sami is proven to be the one who shot E.J. I’m sure he’ll get another job. He’s too good of a guy, not to mention would be too proud, to live off of whatever money Sami gets from J&M, or from any other source for that matter. God knows, she should have a comfortable income from child support alone. LOL.
PattiParticipantI also remember after the accident that Robert gave a key to Justin and said he was the only one he could trust with it, or words to that effect. Wonder what that was all about.
PattiParticipantI say save yourself the grief, girl, cause your worst nightmare is yet to come. Secrets ALWAYS have a way of coming out sooner or later, and your husband’s is far worse for you.
PattiParticipantI just posted practically the same thing on another thread. Finally, E.J. got some long overdue comeuppance. I can’t say I blame her one bit. I’m sure Sami was relieved to get it all off her chest, and I am also happy that this ridiculous charade is not going to continue through sweeps. Just hope Sami and Rafe can keep the kids out of his clutches. It was delicious to watch him stuffing his face while he was being told how much he was despised. Loved, loved, loved it!
PattiParticipantmaybe he’s just ambidextrous. Either way, it was a fantastic scene. Finally, Sami told him what she really thinks of him. Great to see him stuff that big mouth of his all the while he was being told how she really felt about him, and rubbing it in how much she loved Rafe. Loved every single minute of their scenes today. He was so damned smug while he was being put in his place, and yes I’m sure we all know him and Stefano will plot their revenge sooner or later, but I don’t care what he tries, Rafe should be super-protective of her and the kids now. I hope to hell he felt pain in that empty chest cavity where most people have a heart. Good for you, Sami. The charade is over, but keep your eyes, ears, and every other one of your senses sharp, because you can be sure him and Stefano will be coming for you. Rafe may have quit the force, but I hope he kept his gun, cause they’ll probably need it now.
PattiParticipantbut ‘buh-bye’ Situation. Just keep my cutie-pie Kurt Warner around for a while, that’s all I ask. He’s certainly not the best, and I doubt he’ll make the finals, but he sure makes me smile just watching him.
PattiParticipantthere were lots of EXCELLENT soap operas back in the day, by extremely talented soap opera writers. Another World, Edge of Night, Search for Tomorrow, and many others, that were well written, believable, and all with fantastic actors that fans admired for their talent as well as their characters. Today’s soaps are a joke in comparison to these gems, and the writers were so far above and beyond today’s soap writers, that people like Dena Higley, Hogan Sheffer, Bob Guza, and a host of others penning today’s soaps, can’t hold a candle to them, or shine their shoes. Frankly, I’m tired of the "IOASA" excuse for bad writing with rinse and repeat plots, and less and less strong character-driven story lines. I’d rather watch repeats of any one of these Oldies but Goodies than some of the crap being shown today. Don’t take my word for it …. just look at today’s ratings compared to Days gone by.
PattiParticipantabout the realization that I despise more characters on this show than I love. Chloe has for some time been climbing the ladder and is now running right up there with Stephanie, in that she’s super-whiny, needy, desperate, insecure, manipulative, and has no self-worth. Did I leave anything out? Melanie, careful, you’re also one or two rungs below them. It’s just a matter of time before you, too, will be sucked so far into the black hole of pitiful women on this show …. oh, wait, I forgot, you got there first. What is wrong with you, Dena Higley? Do you not know how to write a strong, independent, self-sufficient female character for this show, or do you honestly perceive women, in general, in this light? I was wondering why so many posters on other boards thought you ruined One Life to Live. I’m starting to understand that now. You’re the one-trick pony when it comes to writing for female characters ….. they have to be tortured souls, dependent on a man for self-preservation, too weak to face life on their own ….. or completely batshit crazy….. one or the other.
PattiParticipantshe definitely did not have them when she was on Passions. I noticed as soon as she showed up on Days, as I scatched my head and wondered …. HUH … wonder how much those cost ya’.
PattiParticipantthey never know when enough is enough. I’m totally over the plot to reunite Brady and Nicole (she belongs with E.J.), and unappreciative of them now being on the verge of alcoholism; plus, Vivian’s physical capabilities are so far beyond belief, unless she arrived in a spaceship from the planet Krypton; plus, you are absolutely on target, Bonbon, the blue-tooth hearing device is the only way Brady could hear her and I don’t recall seeing Gus with one; plus, Viv should and would be out of her mind by now from the toxicity levels inside that stupid, asinine crypt; plus, I’ve always wanted to know where her oxygen was coming from …. is it that silly tubing …. cause by all counts she should be dead by now. Ludicrous writing by no-talent wannabe writers who think that if you write it, we will believe. Well, time to get over yourselves and this story-line, which has been quite a bust for me.
PattiParticipantof this, I am …. Stephanie was switched at birth. Steve and Kayla could never produce this weak, needy, whiny, insecure manipulator that I am supposed to believe is their child. Ughhhh, can we have Stephanie walking with Ariana when she’s taken out, please???? I mean, come on, two for the price of one ….. what could be better????
