I didn’t see a mobster, a monster, or any other sort of evil, sinister madman. What I saw was a father grieving, and truly tormented with worry, anxiety and heartache thinking he may lose his son. He was again yesterday, and usually always is, a superb actor.
PattiParticipantthat includes a medical directive as well as a financial decision directive appointing my two sons to act as my attorneys in all matters. After discussing it with my sons, it is stipulated, under no uncertain circumstance, that my eldest son has the power to make any medical decision(s) on my behalf, acting as my attorney, should I become permanently incapacitated so as to be classified as ‘brain dead’ or in a ‘vegetative state of mind and body’ with no hope of recovery. It also includes a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate), which may or may not be redundant, but that’s the way I wanted it prepared, and my younger son holds my designated power of attorney with regard to finances and matters of acting on my behalf with regard to the sale of personal property and any other decisions relating to my finances. This is what the three of us agreed to years ago, and they both know that I trust them to share their responsibilities and, above all, to do as I wish (or I’ll come back and haunt the hell out of both of them.) LOL

PattiParticipantthanks, Bonbon, for putting some clarity on at least one of my issues involving this mess. I was thinking, damn, wouldn’t it be something if E.J. did die, not as a result of the shooting, but from administering too much anesthesia to a brain already weakened or very close to alcohol poisoning; and, let’s face it, E.J. was passed out drunk when he was shot. So drunk, in fact, that he did not hear Sami screaming his name over and over and over again, did not hear her enter the room, did not feel her take the gun out of his hand, and certainly did not SEE her shoot him. See where I’m going with this?
PattiParticipantand when he put the gun to his own head, before he passed out, he did it with his right hand (unless, of course, it was all smoke and mirrors).
PattiParticipantcoming out of the mouth of a 10-year old. Sharon was right; that little girl is only going to get better and better, and she will undoubtedly be a huge star one day, whether she wins this contest or not.
PattiParticipantin most instances Sami’s elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top floor, but that was even more stupid on her part to throw the gun away (which we know they will probably find at some point, unless she did throw it in the Salem River). She could have just as easily shot him, wiped the gun clean of hers and his prints, then, using the bedclothes, placed the gun back into his hand so that only his prints would be on it and then simply placed it in a position on or near him, which would have indicated a suicide attempt. Guess they prefer the drama of yet another ‘whodoneit?’
PattiParticipantor more like a question. I realize the urgency in E.J.’s case in that he has a bullet lodged in his brain or somewhere very near the vicinity of his brain stem; however, my question is can an operation be performed on a person who has a blood alcohol content so far over the limit as E.J.’s must have been? I mean, the guy was ‘dead drunk’ when Sami shot him. Can he even be administered anesthesia while he is in that condition. I keep remembering when Chelsea was due for surgery and she drank the night before, so Daniel would not do the surgery until they got her blood alcohol under control. Again, I realize E.J.’s case was an emergency, but can a patient survive anesthesia let alone brain surgery under those circumstances?

with no memory whatsoever as to what happened. He won’t remember a thing; AND, Rafe will protect Sami by quitting the FBI when she tells him that she was the one who shot E.J., AND Will will protect her by not telling anyone that he knows Sami shot E.J. because he saw her. He was either already in the house or just outside when she ran out, gun in hand, so he knows, too; but Kate will still be walking around, free as a bird, despite all of her mis-deeds, as will Nicole, as will Stefano, as will E.J. when he recovers, as will most, if not all, of the villainous Salem residents who deserve to be incarcerated, so shall we give it up for Hope and Baker, who will be subjected to some nasty aggression while serving time in prison. Just doesn’t seem fair.
PattiParticipantthey’re never going to do it right, so why bother. I must say, I thought it was pretty dramatic when they did Shave E.J.’s head. All I could think of was ‘gee, I hope they don’t screw this up and do something like take a chunk out of his scalp.’ LOL. It was pretty dramatic to see it actually done on-air though.
PattiParticipantfor Johnny’s response: "My daddy won’t like this." Totally idiotic on both Sami and Rafe’s part. I would have expected Caroline to shoot her a look of dissatisfaction if I didn’t know how much she hated E.J. Poor Rafe, got sucked right into this mess thinking he has his little ready-made family. Man, you don’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into. Which proves a saying my friend use to have, which I could never fully understand til’ now. Whenever he saw someone do something really stupid for the sake of love, he used to say "he’s so damn dumb, he’s happy."
PattiParticipantCBS (Y&R) will air the U.S. Open tennis tournament; and ABC will air encore episodes of their 3 soaps, AMC; OLTL; and GH.
PattiParticipantbecoming much too fond of Victor and figures since he is a married man, and since Maggie usually runs on a pretty high moral standard, she figured she simply had to get away from him. The ‘plot’ part of this will be that Vivian will probably accomplish the direct opposite of what she had in mind, and eventually she will have caused her own demise rather than Maggie’s, since this will probably bring Victor and Maggie much closer than they already are.
PattiParticipantremember when he knocked the crates over on Carly and Hope to allow Vivian to escape and Bo and Roman pub out an APB on Gus? Guess that was another dropped story-line within Hope’s story-line, because here he is, still wandering around Salem, aimlessly, except for attending to his Madam’s wishes. He has been on screen with Vivian at the Brady Pub as well, so he can’t possibly be imaginary. He’s Vivian’s personal little ‘rat’, so maybe he lives under the pier.
PattiParticipantshe should take the next step, and that is to simply seek professional help. I have always felt that Sami cannot help herself, hence her poor decisions, impulsive behavior, and feeling she needs a man to survive. Her healing will never come without professional intervention, and the sooner these writers see it that way, the sooner the public will return to being able to stand this character again. I read lots of message boards, and all of them feel that same way about Sami Brady. She’s no longer a character people love to hate, and those who still love her, no matter what, are few and far between. If anyone is in dire need of a make-over, it’s Samantha Gene Brady. If you won’t bring her mom back, at least get her the help she so desperately needs to lead a productive life. If she truly loves her kids the way she is always spouting off in every conversation she has lately, she will do something to help them lead productive lives as well, and the only way she can do that is to get the professional help she so clearly needs.
