but if she does, I hope it’s Daniel’s. Philip didn’t care enough to keep the child he had (Pocket) – at least Daniel appears to really want the baby – although I would love to see Philip and Chloe squirm. Actually, though, I would be surprised if this pregnancy survives.
PattiParticipantthat really left me scratching my head and wondering ‘why in the hell would they do that,’ and this was one of them. I saw no reason for Mike to be in a car accident on his way home, only to wind up in the hospital and not get to visit with Alice. They could just as easily have him held up in traffic, maybe even due on an accident, and kept him from arriving in time. Even then, he could have spent some time with Alice after she passed. I just didn’t see the logic in it, especially since he did not appear hurt in any way whatsoever. But, of course, we would have had no reason to listen to Dr. Lexi’s brilliant deduction – "well, we have to wait for the test results." The whole idea of it just did not gel for me.
PattiParticipantbarring any further political, catastrophic, or Presidential interruptions, the two-day pre-emption (no show, actually) will be next week, on Thursday, July 1st and Friday, July 2nd, and I believe that will still be for Wimbledon.
PattiParticipantdue to Wimbledon.
PattiParticipantWelcome, and glad you joined us!!!
PattiParticipantbut dropped characters with no explanations are just an example of TPTB thinking, once again, that they are smarter than us, or simply that our feeble old (ahem) minds just won’t remember. So, we say to you Mr. Smartypants Corday, in a word ………. RESEARCH!
PattiParticipantto be invested in the stories as much as I miss being invested in my favorite couple(s). The present writers don’t seem to be invested in the characters, just how much turmoil and uproar they can turn out, and that is definitely not what this 40+ year fan of DOOL wants to see. I remember years ago rushing home from work on my lunch hour to catch up on what was happening with my favorites (yes, it was John and Marlena), because watching their love story brought so much happiness not only to the characters themselves, but to practically everyone they were involved with, and the fans just ate them up back in the day. Bring back the love, the decency of the characters, the deliciousness of simply seeing your favorite couple(s) happy with each other. Keep the villains and their drama – every show needs them (most times they never win in the end, anyway), but give us back a reason to become invested once again in what I have always considered to be the best soap opera ever. All I see now is a bunch of nymphos, male and female alike, who can’t be faithful if their lives depend on it. It is demoralizing and I’m just not interested in watching it. It kills what might otherwise be a good story because I’m so disgusted with the character(s) that the story becomes nothing more than a reason to use my fast-forward button, and I’m not just talking about Chloe and Daniel here. Take a really good look at the direction every couple on the show is going right now, and you should see what I mean when I say give us back a reason to be invested once again, end the demoralization of women (as well as men); lighten up on the bedhoppers, get back to writing the villains the way they should be, in stories we can love to hate because these classic characters deserve it (my God I’ve been waiting for a good knock down-drag out story between Kate and Vivian with Stefano and Victor as their shields ever since they brought Louise Sorrell back – but no such luck). Sorry for the rant, but if the writers can’t see that what they’re putting out there just ain’t cuttin’ it, and they’re unwilling to give in to what the fans really want to see, then I’m afraid nothing will save DOOL, because people will simply stop caring rather than keep complaining.
PattiParticipantAli won’t choose any of these guys and try and get back to her like she tried to do with him. That would be a funny twist; and except for maybe Roberto and Justin (IMHO, of course), none of these guys can hold a candle to Jake. Glad he broke it off with Vienna. The girl was out and out nasty; a real hoverer.
PattiParticipanthe was really creepy and I think Ali sensed that. Loved the way Justin tormented him, though. You could tell that he was really intimidated by Justin, who’s more than a little cocky himself, but really a good looker compared to Kasey. Plus, Kasey’s voice would turn me off; he mumbles to the point of not being understood, IMO.
June 22, 2010 at 10:28 pm in reply to: How is the EJ/Nicole double blackmail going to play out? #13842PattiParticipantprobably after Alice’s memorial, Ciara will come clean with Bo about "mommy’s treasure box" and what was in it, and Bo will be the one who breaks this story. Meantime, I read that Hope decides to stop taking the sleeping pills, so will she even remember Doc Baker and his part in all of this, or maybe Ciara, if she ever gets to see Baker, will tell Bo that that’s the man she saw hugging mommy when her treasures got stolen. That’s another storyline that should be wrapping up soon.

PattiParticipantwhen she returned for Shawn, Sr.’s funeral, so I would think they didn’t stay together. Who could blame him after that fiasco with Kim’s split-personalities? OMG, I hope they don’t go back there once she see’s Shane again? Kimberly was always a little psyco back in the day.
PattiParticipantat holding my damn interest in these storylines. It was funny to the extent that Stefano was really getting into it watching Maddie, who most definitely wasn’t Jessica Tuck, no matter how far back it was supposed to have been filmed, but it might have been her voice. Other than the Congressman, there was no possibility of identifying anyone on that tape. Madelyn’s face was never shown, and no proof of a death, although there was a clear indication of a crime; however, neither Stefano nor Kate were ever shown on the tape. Madelyn never said her full name, just "hi, I’m Maddie," but she did reveal the Congressman’s name, which was a deal-breaker and a "dead" give-away that something or someone was watching. He knew he was being screwed in more ways than one. I don’t think these high profile Johns would use their real names when they’re with a hooker ("Oh, that’s okay, Monica, you don’t have to call me "Mr. President"). And, as far as the murder itself was concerned, if not for Maddie yelling ‘he’s dead,’ it would appear he was simply hit over the head and knocked unconscious. The whole thing was poorly written, filmed and acted, so, sorry writers, but once again, no cigar! It was laughable more than anything else, like when he threw her OFF the bed, backwards, and then they threw him back ON the bed and the lamp on top of him. Not a drop of blood but dead as a doornail — go figure. I imagine we were supposed to deduce he was bashed over the head with the lamp, but what proof to show he was hit by Kate and/or Stefano. At that point it struck me funny considering Chloe plunged some 400 or 500 feet down an elevator shaft and woke up the next day, memory intact, with nothing more than a few cuts and bruises, and I believe something else miraculously to be divulged. I am, however, convinced that the document Kate picked up uttering "OMG, Stefano can’t know about this" was Chad’s birth certificate proving he’s Stefano’s kid.
PattiParticipantmy fast-forward button has been working overtime on both of these couples. Daniel probably will forgive her; nobody is that stupid that he can’t see the writing on the wall. If he doesn’t realize Chloe cheated ON him, all he needs to do is think back to when she cheated WITH him. She acted the same psychotic way then.
June 21, 2010 at 1:45 pm in reply to: Gulf Oil Spill info: I was listening to Dr. Peter Ward last night on the radio #13809PattiParticipantthat we would never, ever begin to realize the ecological and economical disasters coming our way from this incident. With that in mind, what’s worse to me is the fact that like any catastrophic event our country has ever had to face, you can just bet your bottom dollar that we will never know the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING BUT the truth. In this instance, I’m sure there are a multitude of untold facts affecting our future that government will never allow to reach us, and that we cannot even begin to imagine the umbrella effect that has yet to occur. I’m even more afraid to believe I would WANT to know. For now, I will continue to pray to God that it’s not too late already.
