PattiParticipant
watching James Reilly’s work was like watching science fiction; cloning, bringing back the dead, that type of thing; I hope we never see that kind of crap again.
PattiParticipantif I wanted to watch JER’s work again, I’d just tune into the Sci-Fi channel every day.
PattiParticipantbut I simply cannot get into caring about this couple. I really love Wally Kurth, but I just don’t see it happening with him or Adrienne and, frankly my dears, I just don’t give a damn! lol
PattiParticipantthey have to return her to the fire and brimstone she came to Salem with. I don’t mean that she should return to her days with Trent, but she seems to be reverting back into the womb with her childish ways. Right now she seems to be way too young for Phillip. If they are going to be good together, they have to have a little more rub off on each other’s personalities to be compatible. She is nowhere near the character she came in as, and I just wish she would grow into her role more. She doesn’t strike me as a ‘Kiriakis’ wife now. In her early days when she had more of a competitive nature about her, knowing what she wanted and how to go about getting it, she was much more fun. Now she is child-like and annoying. Hopefully, Daniel will help her to grow into the fierce young lady I know is in there somewhere.
PattiParticipantbut compared to E.J., they are worlds apart in the "criminal" department. And, what Sami did was in her past, when she was very young and immature. They seem to be maturing her. I just wish they would mature her brain as well. Once she discovers that E.J. was the mastermind behind Sydney’s kidnapping, there will be no chance for them; at least I would hope she would not be able to forgive and forget the whole thing. As far as their chemistry is concerned, I just don’t see it. Sami is just too petite for E.J. They look like Mutt and Jeff together. Rafe, on the other hand, is perfect for her and I sincerely hope she doesn’t throw away the very best thing that could ever have happened to her on a snake like E.J., or, for the sake of trying to be more realistic, a leopard who will never change his spots.
PattiParticipantit’s Melanie that she’s unreceptive to; it’s more Carly. She knows she can’t give Daniel a child, and although it’s painful for her to realize that, I don’t think she is being resentful about it, but Victor has already put the bug in her head about Carly splitting them up, so she’s more worried about Carly than she is about Mel. As for her own situation, even though she hasn’t mentioned it, she has to realize what took place with her own lost childhood and come to understand that Daniel and Melanie need to bond. If she tries to stop it or interferes in any way, it will only show her in a poor light with Daniel, I’m afraid. Oh, well, I think these writers have already made up their minds that they are going to have her running back to Phillip once he goes all bat-*hit crazy over Nathan and Melanie’s obvious feelings for each other. I think it’s ridiculous what these writers are doing to so many relationships right now.
PattiParticipantI like Michael Lynch, but he’s the kind of singer that everything sounds the same. I like Aaron and hope he sticks around long enough to improve. Lee is sort of unique, and I do like him as well. I was glad Simon pointed out to Siobhan that her scream at the end was beginning to bore him. She needs to stop trying to be the female Adam Lambert. Who’s going to go home this week? I would have to say Didi’s song was a poor choice for her voice, but I’d still vote off Tim. Not too bad of a voice, but too much like a Disney clone. No stage presence whatsoever. Simon’s critique of him was very funny, and so sad but true.
PattiParticipantbut I would have let Pam Anderson go instead. She didn’t do bad with her dancing, but her OTT gestures and sexual innuendos were a little much. I mean, is she serious? The way she throws those ta-ta’s around, I think she really believes she is Marilyn Monroe (LMAO). Her partner even looked a little embarrassed to me. Although I love Evan Lysacek and would hope he does win, I think they’re already building up Nicole Scherzinger (2 10’s last night) to be the dancer to beat. She is good, AND she also has the best partner in Derrick (sp?). Buzz Alderson and Kate Gosselin got the ‘sympathy’ vote last night. I love Tony Dovolani, but there’s only so much you can do with someone with two left feet who looks scared to death, and Kate, I’m afraid that’s you.
PattiParticipantlove him just as much on DOOL. I just wish he would not let Nicole ruin his relationship with Arianna, and I liked her spunk with Nicole yesterday. I don’t know how many times Brady will allow Nicole to walk all over him, but if it keeps up, I don’t think Arianna will tolerate it. She’ll walk out of Brady’s life, no matter how much it hurts her. At least I would hope she does. By the way, I hate they way they brought Nicole back. Looks like she’s going to be a pathetic lush once again.
PattiParticipantand that surely is Kinsey. She likes to stir the pot and then sit back and watch it boil over. I did find her funny yesterday in her scene with Nicole. When she took that picture with her cell phone and then said, "this is going on the web…..right…..NOW!", I thought Nicole was going to grab her by the throat, pull the cell phone out of her hand and destroy it. Kinsey is that type person that lives in her own mind’s world. You can’t insult her; you can’t talk sense to her; her deep-routed sense of not being liked forces her to be downright annoying, but again, practically every soap has one. Oh well, summer is coming and the teens will be there doing their thing. I wouldn’t mind if they had a good story, but what I’m seeing so far draws no interest for me. But, I’ll stand by my opinion of Kinsey; she’s a huge pain in the butt, but sometimes she can be funny, like with Nicole yesterday.
PattiParticipantand I, for one, don’t particularly like it, but don’t really care either. Phillip and Melanie are destined for destruction. I like Chloe with Dan. I hope she is strong enough to deal with Daniel being Mel’s father and can allow them the space they need to bond, especially since it will be so obviously painful for her now that she knows she will never be able to give him his own biological child. She has to make sure that she stays strong and doesn’t allow Carly Manning to interfere in her life with Daniel. But, the way she keeps "running into" Philip and pouring her heart out to him is certainly an indication of who she will run to if they do decide to end her and Daniel. And Phillip, poor guy, will get more love and compassion from a lamppost than he will from Melanie, at any stage of their marriage.
PattiParticipantand see a major reformation of that individual. Perfect examples, IMO, are E. J. and Stefano. I don’t even recognize them anymore. We can all say it…..’there was a time when Stefano, or E.J.,"……. well, you get what I mean, and that goes for most of the characters in major story lines right now, with Bo at the top of my list. Who is this guy and what has he done with the real Beauregard Brady? And, I practically gag watching Phillip these days. I don’t like what these writers are doing to Chloe and Dan either. It’s okay if Dan and Melanie get together and learn from each other and about each other, all the while forming the father/daughter bond that they both deserve. They have been robbed of that by Carly Manning, who decided to take it upon herself to play God with their lives. However, I see no reason why either of them should forgive her for keeping them apart. The Carly character has been completely disassembled from the old Carly Manning, and reshaped into this hateful interloper who, quite frankly, and understandably so, is despised now by I would say at least 85-90% of the viewers. I could go right down the list with every character, from A-Z, but you all know what I’m saying. I will never understand, for the life of me as a die-hard DOOL fan from it’s beginning, how Ken Corday has allowed Dena Higley and her staff to obliterate these characters to the point of non-recognition. You had better watch yourself, KC. No matter how much you like her, DH is ruining these characters thd thereby dumping your/our show, into a black hole it may never be able to climb out of if she is not stopped….NOW.
PattiParticipantand that’s par for the course lately, especially with the vets. I do know, however, that he will be returning for Alice’s passing storyline. Some of the vets, I’ve read, will be staying for a while; some as much as ten episodes or so. I hope Bryan Dattilo is one of them. I really miss Lucas.
PattiParticipantshe’s too busy calling Rafe and Arianna to focus on anyone else. OMG she’s a pain in the a$$ with that phone. Her brother is up to his ears in trying to find Sydney’s kidnappers, and Arianna is in a hotel room on an island, with the intention of getting married, and Gabbi feels the need to be calling one or the other of them constantly. And for what reason … just to be nosey or does she have a REAL problem, like maybe a hangnail. Rafe and Arianna don’t stand a chance in their respective love lives until they stop babying this kid, or at least tell her it is inappropriate to call them every two minutes, unless, of course, it really is an emergency. I know, I know, she’s 16, came to Salem for a visit or to check up on them for their mother (who sends a 16-year old to do that anyway), and she’s been here ever since. But, if she needs to be calling her big brother and sister every time they are out of her sight, maybe she should go home to her mommy. Need more back-story for the Hernandezes, writers.
PattiParticipantbut if they are intending to put him into a (hate this expression) "love triangle" that will eventually come between Stephanie and Nathan:
a) I hope she learns to keep her big mouth shut and not ruin the guy before they even have a chance to get started;
b) I hope he’s got a little bit of bad in him, because she seems to do much better with those kind of guys than she does with a Max or a Nathan;
c) I still wish they would bring back Owen. This actor may have been a sleaze in his storyline of spying for the DiMeras while posing as the Kiriakis’ gardener, becoming obsessed with Stephanie when she was engaged to Phillip, kidnapping her, holding her prisoner in a morgue drawer at the mortuary run by his father (ugh), and eventually escaping when she was rescued by MELANIE (no *hit) and Phillip, there was still great chemistry between Steph and Owen, IMHO. I loved this guy and wish he would return one day; and finally
d) If none of the above work out, Ken Corday, can we borrow Billy Miller, better known as Billy Abbott, from Y&R, or, better yet, can we ship Stephanie Johnson to Genoa City (that’s exactly the kind of guy Stephanie needs)? She’d never be able to pull the "po’ li’l’ ole’ helpless me" with a character like Billy Abbott.
