Rafe had better be careful if he and Sami ever do marry. Sami’s grooms don’t have much luck when it comes to being shot on the altar.
PattiParticipantthan I ever did in the past. Sorry, but to me everything else was just over the top and/or bad drama. Why did Mel jump in front of Vivian when she knows damn well the woman was trying to throw her off the roof? Who gets shot and just passes out with no writhing in pain, no screaming out, and oh so little show of blood? Who’s 30 minute old wife gets shot, by her mother, no less, and her brand new hubby doesn’t sweep her up in his arms, and talks to HER……instead of arguing with the shooter? Yes, absolutely, who moves a person from under a supposedly very heave collapse on her body without thinking about further damage, or without waiting for an EMT? I could go on, and on, and on, and on, but what’s the use? It won’t change until we get writers who know how to write, directors who know how to direct, and actors who know how to act, regardless of the lines or script they are given. I can’t agree with CC’s greatness; sorry, to me so far she’s waaaaaayyyyy overly dramatic; Melanie still talks and acts like a giddy school girl who loves to make ridiculous contortions with her mouth and face. And, please, don’t even get me started on Stephanie and Nathan. Now, what I did love today were the scenes between Victor and Maggie; Stefano and Kate; and Vivian’s smooth way of handling Carly’s favor to her, especially throwing the pipe off the roof. That was priceless.
PattiParticipant(Sorry, this is not a new post; I was simply editing a mistate and it posted it as a "New" post.)
MG is a very painful and very debilitating disease, in which case I’m sure Suzanne won’t have to do much ‘acting’ to pull it off, since she’s been there, done that IRL. In any case, I’m hoping we get more of a storyline with it as well. How will other characters be involved in her plight, and what will the effect be on the lives of other characters, such as Nathan, Mia, Melanie, Hope, Julie, Caroline……people who are extremely close to Maggie. In other words, it may sound cruel, but I don’t want to just watch Maggie suffering through this illness day after day, or lying in a hospital bed, and that’s all there is to it. See, I told ya’ I would sound cold, but I’ve seen enough people doing that already. I want a storyline that will really give SR her time to shine.
PattiParticipantthe "shape" (pun intended) of things to come from this wedding, I can only still wonder …….. who in the HELL were those people in the back row? I can see filling up a church with ‘extras’, but this was a private resicence, and there, sitting behind Stefano, Kate, Victor, Maggie, and maybe Will and Mia, sat at least 4 or 6 actors I have never seen before. Talk about too funny … that was hilarious to me.
PattiParticipantshe throws some comedy in here and there, but mostly she’s pretty honest and fair. I find that in most instances I can agree with her critique; whereas the other gal just grates on my nerves most of the time. If it wasn’t for Randy Jackson, I don’t think she would even have an opinion. She just spins what he says and makes it her own. As for Simon, I thought I heard something about Howie Mandell being his replacement; maybe that, too, was just a joke, but Ellen did say that if they hired Howard Stern, she would quit, and it did not seem to be a joke…I think she meant it. I still do feel, however, that the judges….ALL of the judges….should be required to have some background in music; otherwise, anyone could sit up there and give an opinion. I don’t think Simon Cowell is replaceable, but that’s just my opinion. He may be rude, crude and, in many instances, lascivious, but mostly he’s ‘spot-on.’
PattiParticipantI thought the only one in Salem was good ole’ Saint Luke’s.
PattiParticipantwhere the person officiating walked around AT ALL…..EVER. I mean, who does that? Abe looked SO ridiculous in those scenes.
PattiParticipant(EOM)
PattiParticipantI don’t think the remarks made here were intended to downgrade, in any way whatsoever, the cultural or ethnic aspect of the show; that was clearly beautifully done. My daughter-in-law is Native American and she and my granddaughters loved the cultural display of the early heritage depicted in the opening ceremony. They especially loved the dancing and the beautiful costumes, since they, themselves, are extremely active in their Native American pow-wows here in Maryland. Maybe it came across that way in the post, but surely it was not my intent to belittle the opening ceremonies. It was simply a comparison factor, meant only to comment on the flare for the dramatic that some other countries have shown in the past. Sorry, but I just thought I would like to clear that up. Personally, I don’t think any country will be able to top the archer who shot an arrow high into the air and, on the first try, lit the Olympic flame. That just about took my breath away, and I can’t even remember now exactly where that took place, but I do know that I will never forget it.
PattiParticipantI wouldn’t think so (LOL).
PattiParticipantbut they did comment that the Beijing ceremonies cost around THREE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS, whereas the budget for Canada was 30 to 40 MILLION. No drop in the bucket by any means, especially in this economy; however, it would explain why most of Canada’s ceremonies were done with computer images and projections of light and motion. I like K.D. Lang’s voice a lot and she still sounds fabulous, but yes she did put on a lot of weight since I last saw her. A little over-the-top for my taste with the man’s suit, though, regardless of her preferred sexual orientation. To me, it’s just not attractive when a woman dresses like a man, or vice-versa. She sort of remined me of a young Wayne Newton up there when I first saw him perform Dankeshane (sp?).
PattiParticipantbut that would certainly explain it, because she certainly didn’t have them when she was on Passions. At least I don’t remember her being that well endowed back then. In any case, I love Lindsay Hartley, I think she is a beautiful woman, and I’m loving her role more and more on the show now that she is out of that stupid undercover narc storyline. She was so sweet with Chloe yesterday, and I adore her with Brady, even though I have my doubts that their relationship will last once Nicole comes back and Brady falls off his knight in shining armor horse again. (LOL)
PattiParticipantI’m just wondering how much was planned for Nicole’s return, and just what she will have to do with it, if anything. She does still love E.J., and I would hate to have her join forces with him to keep Sydney and Sami apart. Lousy E.J., maybe some day you will get what you deserve (no matter how damned good-looking you are). (LOL)
PattiParticipantfor the Olympics, which is a world-wide event, does that mean the whole day is a ‘wash’ or will it be shown on Soap Net Monday night? Monday’s show, as far as I can determine, should should be pretty exciting with Carly coming for Vivian, E.J.’s next plot for Sami, Rafe and Sydney, Bo’s discovering a critically injured Hope, … lots of action should be taking place. Or, does this just put airing the show completely behind one day where Monday’s show will be shown Tuesday, etc., etc.? In other words, I wouldn’t want to lose a day completely…too much happening right now.
PattiParticipanthere we go…..Bo and Hope, revisited! (LOL)
