and should be putting E.J. in his place as well as Sami. He sees what’s happening here, and I do believe that in the end he will forgive Sami, but for now he’s pissed, and I think their relationship will suffer if they don’t find Sydney soon, but I have no hope of that happening before sweeps, or even then. I hope I’m wrong, because, God knows, I am totally sick to death of watching Sami overact (and I do mean overact, not overreact), E.J. continually have the upper hand with everyone, Anna be so consumed by her lust for money that she has become blind to her fate in all of this, and Stefano not being involved at all, even though I have my suspicions that he will soon be, and poor, sweet Rafe hanging onto a dream of life with Sami and ALL of her children. Yeah, we all know that’s NEVER gonna’ happen. To me, the writing is beginning to slide downhill again, and this storyline is a perfect example of it.
PattiParticipantboth Carly and Melanie are being portrayed as ridiculous, to say the least. When I saw those flashbacks yesterday of what Lawrence did to Carly when she was giving birth, it made my blood run cold. No wonder she stabbed the *astard. My only question to her now would be…what took you so long? As for Melanie, she has been wearing this invisible shield for so long, she doesn’t know how to act any other way. Sometimes her actions grate on my nerves so bad, all I can think is: when are they going to get rid of this character; other times, like yesterday, I realize how broken she truly is inside and everything on the outside is masked with everything from downright rudeness to jealousy, from jealousy to manipulative, and the list goes on and on. I think when she does love, she truly loves hard because she has never known how to in her young life, such as how she feels toward Maggie, Brady, Max, and at times, Mia. Will Phillip be the one to finally bring her out of her insecure shell….not on your life, but for now she sees him as some sort of powerful salvation. I hope she turns out okay with Carly being her mom one day, but it will be interesting to watch her metamorphosis from now till then.
PattiParticipantit was fantastic. Maggie, in all her sadness, still had enough strength in her convictions to let Kate know that she knew exactly what she was up to, and that she would also always have Melanie’s back. I’ve been waiting and hoping for a long time for somebody of real consequence and dignity to tell Kate off. Those are the only kind of individuals who can truly shut her up and leave her practically speechless. Insults from others, like Sami, Stefano, Nicole, E.J., Victor, and even her own children, seem to simply roll off her like the slick oil spill she so convincingly represents. I found myself yelling at the top of my lungs…."you go, Maggie, now slap that *itch and throw her out!" But, nay, the soap gods chose to answer only two of my wishes. (LOL)!
PattiParticipantthe one that’s untraceable.
PattiParticipantthe person who found him wherever it was that Carly stabbed him, and they took off after Carly to avenge his death, but I don’t think he died. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he showed up at some point, but Lawrence and Kate, now that would be a match made in hell for sure.
PattiParticipantwe’ve had temps in the mid to high 40’s and sunny most of the week (1 rain day); and it’s been just glorious. I’m not ready for another winter mess.
PattiParticipantnot even to Bo, that’s why I think it will still turn out to be Dan. That’s just my guess, but I think they had a brief relationship before she introduced him to his wife. Bo has asked Dan to "look after Carly;" now that tells me that somewhere Dan will be involved in this sl; and I think it will be as Melanie’s bio-dad. I know the timetable may be a little off, but that’s never stopped this show from introducing the absurd just to thicken the plot and make the storyline involve more than those in it’s immediate path. I can just visualize how many others will be affected by that outcome if it turns out to be true.
PattiParticipantSami has been a complete idiot to trust E.J. to begin with, let alone withhold the fact that they received the note, which, we know, of course, was just another E.J. lie to keep her in the dark. I hope they bust Anna, too, because like E.J. told her, she’s in this up to her eyeballs and deserves to go down with E.J. As for Rafe and Sami, Rafe is such a sweetheart that in time I think he will forgive Sami, unless, of course, she allows E.J. to pull her back into his tentacles….I mean arms….but if Nicole had to go down, I hope these crazy writers don’t let E.J. and/or Anna just walk on this. Hopefully this WILL end by February sweeps, so I do have something to look forward to with this sl.
January 19, 2010 at 4:10 pm in reply to: I’m still a couple of days behind, but I just watched a few… WOW #9790PattiParticipanthe looks more like "Moe" than "Bo!" At least to me he does, anyway.
PattiParticipantI see this as a train wreck waiting to happen, and the train just keeps comin’. I just wish she was a good enough actor to be able to hold up this very emotional, very traumatic character. TS is not qualified, IMO, to hold up this role, which could be a very exciting, riveting teenager with complicated mental impairments, and a stronger actress could just pull off a very real, very serious teen problem in today’s world. Lovely girl, but she’s making me dislike Mia because of poor acting. They are replacing Will with a much stronger actor, so I read. Can TS be far behind? One can only hope if this character is to survive.
PattiParticipantshe’s oblivious to criticism, insults, or any attempt to SHUT HER UP! She needs a good "flipping out" on by either Mia, or let her and Melanie cross paths….yeah, that would do it, since obviously Mel does care for Mia. I would love to see Melanie go off on Kinsey, because nothing any of her guy friends or Mia seem to say has any effect on her. She’s way past rude….she’s destructive, sneaky, jealous, petty, a liar, and loves to spread false gossip like she did with Mia being a drug addict to Chad. Maybe Gabbi will be the one to put her in her place. All in all, I don’t simply dislike this character, I loathe this character and think somebody should really give her a dose of her own medicine.
PattiParticipantbut yesterday’s show was preempted here in Maryland for about 20 minutes for a report from the President on the Haiti earthquake, and when regular broadcasting had returned, I figured I had missed some discussions between E.J. and Anna about Sami being kept in the dark, and I was right. When I watched the show that evening on Soapnet, E.J. was telling Anna how his plan was not only to take revenge on Samantha, but also on Stefano AND Nicole as well, so it turns out that Sami’s trust in E.J. leaves more that something to be desired. She is radical and over-the-top, but she is not stupid. She knows Rafe has been protecting her and that he has been right on-spot so far, from Stefano and Nicole, right down to E.J. DiMera, and yet she continues with this false trust, to put it mildly, in E.J. simply because why…..because he’s been so truthful with her in the past??? I really have liked the way the writers have been writing Ali lately, but if they insist on returning her to a pathetic, over-reacting screaming idiot, then shame on them. You can redeem the most horrible of characters and everyone will love them when they first hated them, but this flip-flop they do with Sami Brady is just too much to bear. If they insist on writing her this way, then I hope Rafe leaves her when he finds out the truth. He has loved and protected her and had her best interests at heart practically from the start, so for Sami to side with E.J. and hide the truth from Rafe just burns me to my soul. In the meantime, Sydney will undoubtedly grow to need some serious therapy from all of this bullshi* this poor child has had to endure. They also showed her walking across her playpen into James’ arms yesterday. She took about 3 or 4 steps. It was so cute. They must be using the other twin though, because this one doesn’t seem to smile as much and I have noticed several times that she has teary eyes and does not react as well to the other actors.
PattiParticipantit’s just pure speculation at this point. There have been no spoilers to say that Dan is the father. It’s just that Carly admitted that her affair was with a colleague at a medical convention many years ago. Then she comes to town and we find out that her and Dr. Dan were "old" friends back in the day, and that she (Carly) introduced Dan to his wife, Rebecca; so, in most of our just a little bit dirty, but mostly intuitive, minds it was automatically assumed….AH HA! No spoilers printed on this though.
PattiParticipantbecause Dan is the colleague Carly knew from their early years, and she introduced him to his wife, Rebecca. I don’t think anyone said this was a spoiler.
PattiParticipantI can almost see it now; Melanie finds out she is the daughter of Carly and Daniel; Max returns to town to visit Melanie; Phillip and Melanie break up; she goes to Max for comfort and before we know it, SNAP; Max and Melanie are a couple. Hey, don’t throw the eggs yet; it could happen. (LOL)
