Eileen did an awesome job today.  She’s one of those actresses who can say so much with her eyes.

Lauren K is a beautiful woman.  Now if they would only have Kate do something besides plot and scheme.

Never heard of Greg Vaughan prior to him coming on Days, but he is doing a great job.  Ari’s acting makes me want to reach out to Nicole and give her a hug.  I so wish they would let her find a guy who would treasure the person she is deep down inside.

Someone mentioned the chemistry between these two.  From what I’ve seen of Ari, she has chemistry with everyone onscreen.  She just flat out has a gift.

I hate it when they put a lot of makeup on Ali and/or do her hair all fancy.  She is such a naturally attractive woman the lipstick and whirly twirls in her hair take away from her beauty rather than add to it.

I’ve been "out" on the board for a while. While some board members don’t support gays for moral/religious reasons, they have always been respectful of me and we have some good discussions about the subject.  I’ve never felt that anyone is homophobic.  If they are, they haven’t directed it at me.

I don’t want to watch any of them making out or whatever.  The slurping noises are just icky.

One of the most tasteful scenes ever was in Urban Cowboy when "Bud" leaves Gilley’s with "Pam" and they go to her high-rise apartment in Houston.  She tells him she has something to show him and opens the bedroom door where there is a saddle on some sort of sawhorse or whatever beside the bed.  He smiles, walks in and she closes the door.  The writers let the viewers use their imagination.

OMG, I just LOVE the Stooges!!  I was watching them the other morning while drinking a smoothie.  They did something and I spit my drink out laughing.  (Yes, it’s the 12 year old in me coming out.)

Chandler nails it no matter what the dialogue.  Loved his facial expressions when he first saw the ultrasound images of his daughter.

I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for your brother or what it would have been like back in the 50s.  The 70s were hard enough.

I’ve never watched Ellen though in the clips I’ve seen she does come across as a very likeable down-to-earth person.  I just hate it when the media shows people acting like idiots in the name of gay rights such as those who were protesting at the Vatican.  They talk about gay pride.  Well, have some pride in the way you act and respect the opinions of those who do not agree with you.  I’ve said this many times, if you are going to have free speech you have to allow it for the speech with which you do not agree.  You can’t have it both ways.

However, a friend of mine at work tells me I’m the 14 year old brother he never had, and one of my straight female friends says I’m more like a 12 year old boy.  Reckon that’s because I love the Three Stooges and other stuff her son liked at that age.

I so wanted to come out to family and friends, but this was back in the 70s and it would have made for an even more miserable time during junior HS and HS.  My dad and step mom found out in 1982 and had a fit.  It wasn’t until the mid/late 90s when they realized that someone’s sexual orientation is a very small part of who they are.  My birth mom found out in 1983 and she didn’t have any real reaction, but I have a feeling she probably went to the library and found a book to read about the subject.

Though kids can still be downright cruel, I don’t think being gay now is seen as such a terrible thing and they are much less hesitant to come out.  And then again I sometimes wonder if they are really gay or if they are being influenced by behavior they see from some of the "stars" in Hollywood or what they hear on the radio ("I Kissed A Girl" by whoever the hell it was).

While I don’t agree with how much onscreen affection is shown between Will and Sonny (there are young kids watching this show with their moms), the writers are doing a great job and Chandler is amazing.  I wish there had been someone for me to talk to in the 70s when I realized I was gay.  It was a real struggle trying to act straight in junior high and high school, trying to be something you’re not.
