 that it is just going to be a short term part to get more info on the Jill/Lauren being half-sisters connection.  Lauren’s mother is probably being brought on to explain the change in history for Jill.  JMHO though.  They did just bring back Jill’s whole family for like 4 days to drop that bomb so not to worry too much that Julie wouldn’t be back.  Also, Sony owns a share or more in both Y&R and Days.  So I think she could work for both shows if that was decided..

 out there that Shawn C. was in his 40s.  But, I think the actress playing Melanie is only in her early 20s like the actor she is involved with, Chad.  But, as you said, still too young to have been a doctor (even Doogie Houser) and had her.   I do know a family or 2 from teaching that the kid at 13 had a kid who then had their own at an early teen age.  Think 13 +15= 28 yr old granny who was still having kids so you get nieces/nephews who are the same age! Not the norm, TG!

This show does that stuff all the time though- Sami with her child Will and her lover, Ej, who should be younger than Will!  Phil should be Will’s age.    To me, Phil married to Melanie is like robbing the cradle!  He should be in his 30s at the least along with Chloe. Daniel being in his late 40s dating Chloe in her 30s wouldn’t be that strange.  EJ, I can’t figure out how old the show seems to think he is! lol  Or, Sami for that matter.  I believe Galen G. (Rafe) is late 30s or just turned 40.  Some actors can play older or younger (Bo, he never looked his age).  

The shows rarely play real school age kids as they’d have to pay for an onset tutor. 

 ‘father’ figure and caretaker when he spent all those years in the attic at the K mansion.  He may also have been the one to find the secret to "SORAS" as when Philip was last seen he was a baby and returned a short time later as a teen!  Watch out for Henderson, he seems dangerous! lol

 I know it’s not the same as someone remembering on their own but if you have a calendar that he looks at, put your name and birthday.  I don’t know the age of your kids, but have them remind him a few days ahead.  If he uses a computer with date reminders, FB etc. set it up to remind him. Last resort, you could do what some of my friends have done – go shopping and buy your own present and tell everyone it’s from your husband –including him.  

Is there another reason that he forgot?  Like did he feel financially that he couldn’t spend any additional money this year?  I know he could have done a note or something but he might not feel that was good enough.  Does he have a learning disability or some other thing like that where he just doesn’t attend to those things?  Maybe a secretary to remind him?  Is he dealing with some work stress that he can only focus on that?

You said that birthdays weren’t a big deal to him so maybe he just doesn’t get what a big deal they are to many people?  You also said he said he’d thought about it before the 4th but then forgot and didn’t make the plans for the other dinner out – sounds like he is stressed about something and that is impacting his focus on you and a social life.  

In general, it sounds like more is going on with him.

 Mike and Carrie although I hate her saying she’s happy with what’s his name!   Jennifer was also great to see.  I wish they had decided to keep the new Bill around!
