I’m Catholic – fully recovered. What I mean by that is that I was born into a Catholic family, baptized Communion etc…. I don’t believe a lot of what the Church preaches or says and I have a hard time buying into a book that was written a baziliion years ago (and for what it’s worth – we don’t even know where it all stemmed from.) I do however have faith and believe in God and find myself in the church every once in a while – mainly b/c I don’t need to be there to pray but sometimes I like to feel "close" to God if that makes sense. Plus – I donate some funds b/c I like to think it goes to good use.
But when I see these so called Christians saying "God hates fags" – well, that is not God’s word now is it? God doesn’t hate or punish anyone. Homosexuality being a sin, according to the bible, is up for debate. There’s a lot in that book that is up for debate. But that’s not for this board.
I appreciate you being clear and honest about your post though – YOUR post was smart and well thought out. And believe me, as a gay man I appreciate it.
I replied b/c you baited me too do so with your "let me have it TFlo." What is comes down to is this – what you think it irrelevent to me specifically as you don’t know me nor do I care about you or what you think (not being offensive but i really don’t know you LOL.)
If you FF through all of the bedroom scenes that’s different. And I too agree with you – most of the actors looks like they don’t want to do it OR are not comfortable doing it. That to me makes total sense.
But when you compare why some like lemon pie and some are democrats… well, that’s just an absurd comparison and I think you know it. Whether you like to see two men in bed vs. not enjoying lemon pie is NOT a fair connection. Now if you say you don’t like seeing two men in bed is the same as not enjoying seeing two black people kiss – well, that’s a fair comparison. And that would be racist. And for the record being left handed or right handed was you really grabbing at straws.
I think it’s lovely that you had a dear gay friend and I’m sorry he passed away…. but you are fooling yourself if you are thinking that you’re not homophobic. And you sort of admitted that by saying you have a "phobia."
And for the record, saying that gays are the some of the sweetest and funniest is a stereotype. Though I know you meant it as a compliment that is what it is. Just wanted to put that out there…

For anyone who has to "fast forward" – I’m sorry, it’s homophobic. I don’t care you spin it, say it, justify it by saying you have "gay friends or family." It’s homophobic. I’m a gay man – I am a man who loves men. There is not one part of me that feels the need to fast forward through Sami and EJ (or any other couple on DOOL) while they become intimate in a bedroom scene. I’m gay and I have no issues watching straight people doing that on a show or even in real life. Do I want to participate? No (well maybe just EJ) but in general – no. So if you’re straight why can’t you sit through a gay bedroom scene?! No one is asking you to watch Sonny bend Will over. I can see not wanting to see that. I certainly don’t want to see Sami’s vagina.
I have to ask – when you see Neil Patrick Harris playing a womanizer on How I Met Your Mother is that okay? He’s a gay man playing a straight man. When you saw Cynthia Nixon playing Miranda on Sex and the City was that okay for you as well? Is gay playing straight acceptable?
And to say "Well if Freddie was gay in real life it would be different." Why? Why would it be different? He’s an ACTOR playing a role. You are not signing up to watch real life – DOOL is fiction. If Freddie was gay in real life and if Guy was gay in real life would you Fast Forward? I can’t see how knowing either or both is gay in real life makes it any different. Unless of course you cannot separate fact from fiction.
Days would have to do some REAL storytelling – I love that storyline idea but we’d never see it. And if we did – they’d screw it up.

You hate EJ – great. I like him but I LOVE SAMI!!! I also love them together. To each his own for sure – that’s why this board exists right. Just seems some folks on here take it to a whole other level.

Kidding… (well not really.) I’ve always hated Abby and that was prior to this week – my hate is not directed at her b/c of her romp with EJ. It’s directed at her b/c she is a BORE!!!
They were equally responsible for what happened… She’s supposed to be a Horton and she’s supposed to "know better" isn’t that correct? E.J. obviously should know better as he is a grown man and is in a relationship. It takes two to tango.
My sociopath comment was in jest – as in it would be GREAT to see her become an all out nut job (ala Kristen) since E.J. set it up for her to think it was "lovely." That would fuel her fire and send her into a place where she thinks it is something it isn’t. I don’t want a preggo storyline. I want to see Sami find out…. forgive EJ and for Abby, since she’s such a snooze fest, have something to do. What better then to go after EJ like a full blown nut job andd have her go head to head with Sami – bitch vs. bat sh*t crazy young woman.

That the DOOL brass wanted to mature him up a bit. He definitely LOOKS older that’s for sure – mature remains to be seen.
Yea – let her off herself. We haven’t done a suicide story line in a while. Something different at least and gets rid of the character too!!! (Note to all – I don’t condone or glorify suicide – this is just a soap story.) I know how "some" of you can read out of context
Being adopted would not make a difference – family is family. But being a Dimera it has always shocked me that Stefano even cared about Kristen/Peter since they were not his. Especially since he practically dis-owned EJ when he thought he was not his. Odd!!!! Then again – throw Tony into that mix. Okay – i have a headache LOL
He DOES love Sami – not just in a way EJ can love someone but he truly does love her. It will all come out and they will ULTIMATELY be together – but we need a story to get us to sweeps
See at the end of the day family trumps Sami (in his mind) and I’m sure there a lot of people who can relate to that. Think about it – you fall in love and your parents hate your choice and therefore you break up. THAT HAPPENS A LOT!!! Now take that, magnify by 100 (for soap purposes) and throw in someone with sociopathic tendencies and what do you have? This storyline.
The funny thing is if the tables were turned Sami would be doing the same thing to protect HER family – we all know that. That’s what bugs me about this – b/c of all people she would totally stick up for her brother over choosing EJ. So, even though she hates Kristen, she should still understand how he feels. I mean there is no question the man loves you. He gave up everything for you… Covered ur most recent murder. He looks at you like you are his world. Yes – trust is imporant, but c’mon Sami, y’all have had this issue before – it isn’t new. But alas – there needs to be a story arc.
And for all you Sami/EJ haters they are the realest couple on the show right now (sans Will and Sonny.) They ACTUALLY love each other and are having issues. Vs. Jen/Dan who bump into each other, never go on a date and BAM – they are in love LOL
