TimParticipant
Yes! What is it with Kate and that blue streak or whatever it is (sometimes it looks like a feather to me)? I wonder if that’s part of her wardrobe or something of the actresses that they allowed to remain? It just always seems out of place for that type of character, to me at least.
TimParticipantThat’s what I kind of thought, but the top post here said they were mini plot points, so that’s why I asked.
TimParticipantSo are we supposed to be paying attention to the storyline in these little commercials??
I thought they were just showing fond memories preparing you for John and Marlena’s return. My local station often plays over them a bit or I miss them as they happen in the commercial break…
If they are mini-plot points, I hope they haven’t shown Marlena floating over her bed…
TimParticipantI didn’t care if Will was gay or not but his character is portrayed very gay. When the actors changed after a few weeks I thought, wow they are going to have a gay character on Days… I hadn’t even heard the speculation at that point.
Will has been portrayed more gay than Sonny is. Some fans may not be ready for a gay character, but clearly that’s what he was intended to be.
TimParticipantIs the DA’s life really in shambles after loosing Chad? I thought he was just trying to reconcile to get an ‘in’ on what’s happening in Chad’s new crime family. I really didn’t think he had any second thoughts about loving him.
Tad being the attacker is very interesting, that would be great so they can eventually throw him in jail and get rid of the character.
I’ve missed a little bit of this storyline but I thought maybe some of the hesistation about this case was regarding Hope investigating it, since she had been an attacker at one point too. ??
TimParticipantI will not miss him.
Is he already gone?
TimParticipantAren’t the two gay characters supposed to become a couple eventually? Seeing Tad and Sonny ever become a couple is just wrong. Sonny might be able to forgive him eventually, but love him, I don’t think so, at least I hope not. If nothing else, it sends a bad message about abusive relationships. (Just because he finally accepts he’s gay does not mean his abusive behavior will end.)
Also, I thought Sonny was supposed to pair up with a more primary character. If he does pair up with Tad, then what’s the point of doing it in the first place, it’s just a sideshow.
I’m not really crazy about the idea changing Will back to being straight, they’ve built him up as someone just about ready to come out and now they’re scrapping all that. I don’t think that sends a good message, either. That’s not pro-gay, that’s having seen a family destroyed by man who was finally honest with himself after years of marriage and children.
If they’re going to wimp out at this point, I’d rather see them just shelf Sonny all together.
TimParticipantI guess it makes sense to that people come back into town for a funeral, but they don’t stick around for too long afterwards.
However, I’ve really enjoyed seeing all the old characters and have made extra point to watch just because of that. If I were representative of the audience then they’d do best to find ways to move them back into town.
TimParticipantIn my old Days book the last reference I can find to him is:
"He and his sister Marie fell in love, but the truth of his identity was discovered before they consumated their relationship." There is also something about his pet monkey recognizing him, but nothing about how or why he left.
Looks like the latest he was in the show was ’79.
TimParticipantI love your comment about the kid being 5 by the first trimester!
It made me think, do we ever see kids from say the ages 5-15 on soaps like Days? It seems like one episode they’re running around chasing bugs and then the next they’re chasing the opposite sex.
I guess once they get old enough to talk they don’t consider the characters to have anything interesting to say until they’re teens??
TimParticipantI know, it looked like Allison saved that kid poor kid from the advertiser! And thankfully she had an extra bag in her purse, no less!
TimParticipantEvery time I hear Sami apologize to EJ for this or that, I think, but he raped you–you never have to apologize to him for anything, ever. Personally, I think she should slap him every time he smiles at her, but she seems to have forgotten about the whole thing entirely.
I like Rafe, but I think Sami should end up alone, she’s just too much for any person to live with. The pursuit of men is her downfall. Perhaps she could take up knitting or something.
TimParticipantChristmastime… will be sad this year when they put the ornaments on the tree… wherever that might be and she will be gone.
I wish Doug & Julie would be in the show more now to represent the ‘old guard,’ so to speak.
TimParticipantThanks for the explanation. Just seems wrong that they are behaving that way. I know the actress is long passed, but still…
