My typing fingers and my brain are not always in synch as well.  In 1964, my husband and I traveled from Cleveland to Detroit for a wedding.  My cousin, who had just moved to the Detroit area, took us to The Playboy Club in downtown Detroit.  It was so glamorous and exciting.  I still have the matchbook I took as a souvenir.

The show is set in 1961.  The newspaper woman who infiltrated The Playboy Club had ID dated 1961.  I also checked the info on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1797475/

I like to see if shows set in a certain time period are accurate.  One scene in the Playboy Club in Chicago had singer Lesley Gore being portrayed by an actress (good look-alike).  However, she was singing "It’s My Party And I’ll Cry If I Want To", which was a hit in 1963.  The show was set in 1961.

I started watching Pan Am and The Playboy Club, mostly because both are set in the early 1960s.  The Playboy Club has already been canceled after three episodes.  I’m losing interest in Pan Am.  I recorded Last Man Standing to watch after the baseball playoffs are over.  GO TIGERS !!

Jed Allen (Don Craig) is 76 years old, and was on DOOL 1971-1985.  Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) is almost 64 and has been on the show on and off (mostly on) since 1976.  Peggy McCay (Caroline Brady) is almost 81 and has been on DOOL since 1983.  John Aniston (Victor K.) is 78 and has been on the show on and off since 1987.  Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) is 68 and has been on DOOL since 1973.  Since they are all old enough to be collecting Social Security, they should be able to pursue a relationship with whomever they please.  Several years difference in age, older or younger, should not make a difference.  Viva romance for characters in their golden years!!!

Didn’t Kate and Stefano have a torrid dance some years ago (long before they got married)?

Yes, Jensen Ackles played the part of Jason Teague on Smallville.  I never watched Smallville, but Supernatural is one of my favorite TV shows.  The information below is from The Internet Movie Database website:

Season 6, Episode 15: The French Mistake

    Original Air Date—25 February 2011

Raphael launches an attack on Castiel and his allies, sending a particularly frightening angelic hitman after Balthazar, Sam and Dean. In an effort to protect the brothers, Balthazar sends them to an alternate universe where they are the stars of a TV show called "Supernatural" and they are actors named "Jensen Ackles" and "Jared Padalecki." The brothers are confused when Castiel appears to be a tweet-happy actor named Misha Collins and Sam is married to Ruby.

One of the scenes showed Jensen looking at a TV, which was showing a scene from DOOL with Eric Brady and Nicole Walker.

"Valerie" debuted in March 1986 (25 years ago–doesn’t seem possible that it was that long ago).  When actress Valerie Harper (Valerie Hogan) left the show at the end of the second season in 1987, the show’s name was first changed to "Valerie’s Family" and then to "The Hogan Family".  Her absence was explained by having the character die in an auto accident.  Sandy Duncan (Sandy Hogan) joined the cast in the third season in September 1987.  She played Michael Hogan’s (Josh Taylor) sister.

Valerie Harper’s character, Rhoda, was introduced on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1970.  Her spin-off series "Rhoda" ran from 1974-1978.

Remember the old movie westerns?  The good cowboy always wore white (at least a white hat) and the bad cowboy wore black.  Maybe the dark gray and other dark colors is indicative of where Taylor’s personality is headed.

Although Dario knocked Troy unconscious, it was Troy’s history of heavy drug use that caused him to slip into the state of being brain dead.  At least, that’s DOOL’s explanation of the situation.

… Boston Legal.  One of my favorites, it was on for five seasons (2004-2008).  Mark Valley played attorney Brad Chase.  Boston Legal was a spinoff of The Practice.

Dolores Hart starred opposite Elvis Presley in "Loving You" (1957) and opposite George Hamilton in "Where The Boys Are" (1960), as well as other film and TV roles.  She is now called Reverend Mother Dolores Hart, and is prioress of Regina Laudis (Queen of Praise) Abbey in Bethlehem, Connecticut.  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0366247/

They do have a complicated system for titles in Great Britain.  Charles is the Prince of Wales;  Diana was the Princess of Wales; Camilla is the Dutchess of Cornwall;  William is now the Duke of Cambridge; Kate is the Dutchess of Cambridge.

I’ve been somewhat fascinated with Great Britain’s royal family ever since I watched Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation on TV in 1953 when I was ten years old.  The Queen is now 85 years old–Prince Charles is 62.  The Queen Mother lived to be 101.  Will Prince Charles ever become King, or will that title go directly to Prince William?  This is the stuff of which soap operas are made.

How could he remember?  History has been changed so many times.  The whole Ireland story was because of the chemistry between Sami and E.J. and the writers invented a plot to showcase that chemistry.  When John Black was thought to be Tony DiMera’s half brother (and Stefano’s son), it was more believable because of their ages.  Now John and Stefano are the half brothers.  Remember how John always called Stefano "old man"?
